Kinda forgot to comment on the video. I'd say my favorite part is when the guy is "sliding" across the snow. The high resolution version just looked beautiful because the camera you were using. Too bad you didnt get into NYU.

is there a website where there are more shorts like that? I would like to see some good short movies.

Unfortunately not.

How did you not get into NYU with that??

That was so good I hope I can do something like that someday.

PS: I love the PowerBook in the background in the first scene when you're getting out of bed.

very cool... but slow down...

Hey, just wanted to say that the film was quite awesome- im rather obsessed with timelapse myself... did a short timelapse cleaning up my room, which was trashed after a portfolio review a few years ago.. then most recently did a timelapse of unloading my uhaul trailor after getting back from school, with all of my crap (treasures)- but they were just fun.. this is eversoslightlymore serious.

A major suggestion id have, is that while this is a bit of a technique study (which youve successfully mastered) - take a bit more time on each scene that you present.. i was a little dissapointed when the first side scroll/walk scene in the snow lasted for such a short amount of time.. it was a very well framed shot, just the right distance from camera- and was a bit short lived.. could have shown more of the environment down the road.. then right after that, once the snowball had been rolled up, it rolls on its own in the snow which was very fun- but it didnt roll very far. The camera cut before it really had a chance to establish any personality or life of its own. I know in frame by frame animation (or pixelation) its hard to have that patience, as it seems like its already covered so much time.. but it would really add to the description of an item you are presenting to the audience. (especially with the pace that the audio used creates) - nevertheless, im impressed and inspired... thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the input needlnerdz. I completely agree. Actually, Morning was a complete rush job- filmed over the course of two days, with a total of about 5 hours of shooting. If I had more time, I certainly would've drawn some scenes out more.. especially the snowball one.

No Offense to the other films on here

But finally some talent... I'm sorry but alot of the video's are here are a hell of alot worse.

On regards to a voiceless song: No way... The song was the driving force. You fell in to the movie and the song just became an oar steering your emotions in the direction of the film.

Though there wasn't an ending with a point it still was pretty sweet. Have you ever tried adding a little more to make a point? Or am I just missing the point? I know not all things need a point, but I'm just curious.

Oh but the cows. I really didn't like the cow shots. I'm sure those were extremely hard to shoot, but still it did make me fall out of the video.

Just my 2 cents what do I know

Really nice piece of art there. I enjoyed it and appreciate the effort you put into creating it. Keep it up :)

On another note did anyone see the Angry Kid video? Very cute.

Nice man. I got my MFA in Filmmaking at NYU/Tisch. Nice piece for the portfolio. I am sure they will enjoy it.

Wow, I am surprised. While their emphasis is on narrative, presumably you would learn about story while there. I am surprised that they didn't admit you. Try again. Also think about CalArts.

i haven't seen the video yet (i can't view qt at work), but based on everyone elses' comments, i'm surprised too.

i got my bfa in film/tv from tisch a few years ago and certainly didn't get in with something that really wowed people. though i did an internal transfer, so that may have helped.

you must have had crappy grades/sat score. ;) nyu has an image to maintain, even if it's BS.

where are you going, instead?

Awesome movie! It's very nice in its simplicity and the technique is really cool. You should look into some of the techniques they used for the Matrix. Combine this effect with Shake and a green screen and the sky's the limit. Keep up the good work!

A previous poster was also wondering about how to do something like this without Motion, etc. You could do something like this with Flash. Flash will take a whole bunch of sequential stills and make an animation from them. The post processing on the other hand would have to be done by hand frame by frame unless you got really creative with batch processing.
