I ordered this SSD drive and it's coming in the morning. I was wondering if there's anything I need to do that may be different from using a regular HDD when I go to install Leopard. can I assume it's just like using a regular HDD when I use the Disk Utility program upon setup or is there something different I need to do?

any suggestions or tips will be appreciated.

This would be a good time to start from scratch. I mean, clean OS install and put in files that you really need.

indeed I will.

there's no way I would install a new HDD and not do a fresh OS installation. I much prefer to have everything as fresh as possible from day one.

Once everything is installed, disable SMS, turn off access time recording and block spotlight to increase the performance and longevity of your SSD. In addition to these, I am also looking into whether to disable hibernation or not -for the same reasons outlined above.

Here is the link for the SMS: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1934

Here is a post outlining how to turn off access time recording: http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/showpost.php?p=379197&postcount=88

Enjoy your faaaast MBP - I do mine with the 160GB Intel G2 SSD ;)
