It certainly looks nice...only thing I would do different if it were me, is hide the cables going to the TV behind the sheet-rock.

I would seriously consider going with the Flanders Scientific Monitor or eCinema Monitor over the Panasonic. I would even put my JVC ahead of the Panny... See if you can go to a local VAR and get a demo of these before you make a purchase. Like I said before, I really haven't liked any of the Panasonic broadcast LCDs I've seen in the past. The FSi's come highly recommended by a lot of the big names on CreativeCOW.

Hey BigBoss I will actually take that advice and schedule demos through virtual media. I should see these monitors side by side and i will ask for the brands you have suggested. Thanks for the info.

I really like your desk, where did you purchase it and what is it called. I could use a desk of that size for my setup. Thanks

I second taking a look at the Flanders Scientific monitors. I was able to get a quick demo of a 17" model a few months ago and loved it. If it was out when I'd purchased the JVC I have I definitely would've gone w/the Flanders.

I custom'd design the desk myself and had it constructed by a company in michigan. The desk is solid wood and cost around 15,000 with construction and shipping. If you have that kind of budget. The place is called Priebe's Creative Woodworking. They are out of Benton Harbor Michigan. Speak to Lillian or Jeff. They are very good people and I highly recommend them. priebeswoodworking.com.

I have the original plans to mine if you need them for the build out. But I have some recommendations if you are interested.

A big thanks to BIgBoss and LW for the useful info.

Also I had demos of the different production monitors today and I am going with the Flanders Scientific LM-2470W. It's a rock solid monitor and has 4 mode wave vector scope. SO NICE.

Really thanks for the info guys.

First, Nice studio...excellent job on the gear...however, I will agree with others AND your wisdom to accept their suggestions

(Aurelex/Sonex room treatment, Pro Grading B/C monitor, and your choice to go with the Euphonix Color rig)...also, depending on your choice of Aurelex color...painting the room neutral grey is an excellent and rather inexpensive improvement that will pay dividends.

I run an audio/video production company with my wife...3 years ago, bought a new house with (what I thought) would seemed like the perfect studio room. We put 2x23" ACDs and the eCinema Systems FX-C2401 24" HD LCD Monitor (for broadcast/grading). Also, other side of the room, in front of the "Client Couch" is a 52" Sony XBR5 LCD. MacPro under the desk, Denon 4810CI (for stereo, DD, DTS, DD+ and DTS-Master, monitoring) and B&W speakers all the way around. Allen and Heath ZedR16, Symetrix 528 mic proc, as well as the Euphonix Mix/Control/Trasport. We also have a couple of TC Helicon vocal processors, EQ, Compressor, and Power redundancy. There are a lot of "NON" heat producing elements I haven't mentioned...but I gave you my gear list not to brag....but to give you a head's up...I'm in Alaska and I'm getting hot in that room. I have a window to the outside....but being in AK, we don't have AC built into most homes. I am strongly considering one of the portable AC units at Costco...but the concern is noise.

All this gear in front of you will burn you up (not literally, but you'll be sweatin:))...the MacPro under your desk does it's own heating....from there, up...the monitors/LCD, amps (for your speakers...or are they powered?), etc. Be aware of excess heat...and not just with fans blowing the hot air around. If you have the ability to do fresh air exchange in the room to cool it down...it makes for a much more comfortable session. The 23-27" broadcast size is ALL you need if you intend to put it in the same place as your LCD/Plasma you currently have hung. That'll drop that heat significantly. Course, if you have in home A/C...you may already be set.

I love your setup...very clean. Just a couple of small issues (Not that room treatment is a small task, but it goes quick once you start gluing;))...also, I think someone mentioned it earlier...your speaker placement is no good from your position. (Speakers need room to breath!!!) I would attempt to mount them on the wall to the left/right/center of your broadcast monitor...when you get it...if you are going to utilize the same space as your big monitor. Also, can't tell from the shot, make sure you have neutral speakers for monitoring....ah, second thought, you're not recording music, so not that huge of a deal....however, if you're steering the new 8 channel (7.1) high rez soundtracks...a decent investment in speakers is a good idea...ymmv.

Just being nitpicky....the room treatment is HUGE! Get that done and avoid room noise...you'll be lovin life. For color, you already made that decision. You're good to go!

I will second the compliment on the custom desk....Great Design:)

Thanks J for all the advice. I have had serious issues with the heat factor so I began investigating into a cooling system and i found a standing air conditioner that cools the room very well. It's a little noise but I can put it in sleep mode and it is fairly quite. What i normally do is turn it on and let the room cool then return to work. Only takes like 15 mins. to cool the room so it's a nice break after working all the time. The sides of the desk are cooled and stay at 60 degrees so i good with that and they are sound proof and I never hear fan noise. Everything else I pretty much have covered.

Thanks for your assistance.

Just a little update: NAB was awesome and i have continued now with the studio build out and the 55" production screen that I originally was getting was not a panasonic at all it was a TV Logic http://www.tvlogicusa.com/product/lvm/553.php this thing is amazing and it's only 17 grand

And for a color correction control surface I found the Tangent Wave to be more a A fisher price to compared To the Black Magic Design Da Vinci Resolve a great bargin at 29,995 It really dose a great job. I am now building a separate color correction studio. http://www.blackmagic-design.com/davinci/resolve/
