I just finally decided to activate the 3G on my AT&T iPad.
OMG, the speed is pathetic.
I won't be renewing it at the end of the month.
I'll use my 4g T-mobile phone to tether when I need to.

I have a Verizon iPad and an AT&T iPhone. When both devices have full signal, and I try speed tests, I usually receive data speeds around 5x faster on my iPhone. I can't speak for everyone, but my honest opinion is that CDMA speeds are a complete joke. Next iPad I get will be an AT&T model

NO problems or complaints here with ATT.

My sympathy goes out to the OP who didn't bother investigating which carrier would work best for him BEFORE making the irreversible decision of which carrier's iPad to buy!

Totally dependent on your area.

AT&T smokes Verizon where I am. Verizon may have slightly (and I do mean slightly) better coverage in my area but I would rather have fast 3G speeds.

i'm debating between at&t and verizon too, would love to hear from people who were on both ipad's in the los angeles area.
i mainly use it to stream online music to my cars system, while driving, so covrage, with minimal buffering is what im looking for. anyone?

I miss AT&T, to be honest. Data speeds were great, coverage was great, had absolutely no problems.

Same here, I dreaded switching from Verizon to ATT until I actually did it and I seriously have no clue where all the ATT hate comes from. I love ATT.

I'm glad your leaving at&t that way we dont have to listen to you bitch and moan about slow speeds in YOUR area, where others have excellant service.

But do not forget that AT&T bought out TMO and soon you'll be an AT&T customer again

I wish I could have found an AT&T iPad, my Verizon coverage is not that much better and the speeds are pretty slow. Not very happy with Verizon.
