I don't need your damn sympathy. AT&T works great for me. It's fast and reliable, I rarely drop a call, maybe 1 a month and I am on the phone A LOT!

My sympathy goes out to people who think AT&T in one location represents AT&T in another.

 The world according to srlmj23. It's your reality, so damn those with a different experience.

And you must think that location signal variance is exclusive to AT&T.
My sympathies for being a troll:cool:

No, I don't.
The OP wrote "My sympathy goes out to AT&T users" because he/she is having problems with AT&T. Does that mean I have problems with it? No. No sympathy required. We don't see threads saying "My sympathy goes out to Verizon users" because it seems to be relatively understood that service varies based on location. Some people just don't understand that, while others do.

That's how I understood it on your first post. I didn't see any trolling in your post. I have both AT&T 3G and Verizon 3G/4G LTE, and I sometimes switch between carriers depending on location.

I seriously have no clue where all the ATT hate comes from.

It comes from Apples need to hide from the truth. Instead they use their influence to blame AT&T for anything & everything. Apple worshipers chime in and spew venom to impress their peers. Say it enough times and the gullibles will begin to join in. Reality is covered up, Apples off the hook & iFans are thrilled.

Did he say that? All i saw in his post is that att works great for him and he doesn't want the op's sympathy. I feel the same. ATT 3G is superior in speed to verizon and my area has flawless coverage. It would be cheaper for me to switch to verizon because my sister works for them, but i choose not to because ATT is much better in my opinion.

Thanks, that is how my post was intended to be understood.
Having two networks seems like a good idea. I guess that almost guarantees you decent service wherever you go.

Yes, I knew where you were coming from in your first post.

It is nice having 2 network options... and it very useful when I travel, but not cheap. My work was going to provide me with a smartphone, but they are strictly Verizon. I already had an iPhone and didn't want to carry 2 phones with me.... so I asked if I could get a portable hotspot (mifi) from Verizon instead. Since that was a cheaper solution for them, they also pay for my AT&T 3G data on my iPhone too.:p

Totally dependent on your area.

AT&T smokes Verizon where I am. Verizon may have slightly (and I do mean slightly) better coverage in my area but I would rather have fast 3G speeds.

Exact same thing in my area and the reason I'm sticking with AT&T, at least until LTE hits the mainstream here. Then I'll revisit it.

After using the AT&T 3G for the last 2 weeks. Disappointment would be a under statement. I basically can not use it in my area at all.

The problem is the upload speed is literally non existent. The download is tolerable. I need to upload photos from the road, when I try it fails each and ever time. When I get lucky and it does load, it takes at least 5+ minutes.

I'm shocked nobody else has an issue with this. IMO most people are not uploading that often so there not seeing the short comings with the 3G service.

Hopefully AT&T improves things. I really wanted this to work out. But I will have to try something else to fit my needs.

I just finally decided to activate the 3G on my AT&T iPad.
OMG, the speed is pathetic.
I won't be renewing it at the end of the month.
I'll use my 4g T-mobile phone to tether when I need to.

Tell ya what, it's a lot faster than what Verizon, Sprint have right now. My Speeds are just fine.

Fyi

FYI Verizons 3g DATA speeds are slower than AT&T's this is a proven fact. It could vary slightly by area due to signal but 9/10 times att is faster. Now signal on the other hand is a compltely different story.

ill stick with att's 5m download speed over verizons 1.5m in my area than you

Verizon here I come. :)

You do realize outside that there isn't much noticeable difference (unless you live in NYC or DC for the most part) between VZW and AT&T, right? VZW has a wider net on their 3G network, but AT&T's is much faster.

Both have bloated prices and cruddy customer service.

Hopefully OP is reading some news...

AT&T is clearly moving into purchase T-mobile. These kind of Deals go thru some tough inspections, but they will get approved, eventually.

We will see how OP laughs about his T-mobile plans and services when AT&T swallows T-mobile.

In other words, AT&T is T-mobile and T-mobile is AT&T. It will be very soon.

Also, OP has 3G ipad with AT&T radio and somehow he says he will switch to Verizon. Somehow GSM iPad will work with Verizon's 3G radio? Based on this logic, this person is obviously living in a lala land.

Verizon's 3G speed is somehow faster than AT&T's HSDPA 3G? I would love to see that in my area.

So, what you're saying, is that it's going to suck to have t-mobile bought by AT&T because AT&T sucks.

Uum, isn't that the point I already made?

Ad it's going to be oh so hard to sell this ipad2 and get an iPad 3 when it comes time to switch, won't it.

But thanks for backing me up on that. :D
