No love for MiniGore in this thread? The iPad version is way better than it's iPhone counterpart, IMHO. It looks awesome on the larger screen. Plus, you don't have two-thirds of the screen obscured by thumbs.

Again, I noted this game, but it wasn't even close to being in the top 10. I actually preferred it on the iPhone...

All subjective, of course. :D

Wesnoth is pretty fun, after playing that some today, but it's lacking that polish to get it into the top 10 (so far). It's possible that might change, but the interface could use some work, with some of the commands being really small and more difficult to press than they ought to be...

My fav game is Civilization Revolution. I tried it on the iPhone and it was annoying to play on a small screen. The size of the ipads screen makes it a joy to play.

I want to buy it buy have the iPhone version. Is it really worth buying the HD version???

Angry Birds HD seem to have been ignored by its developers and they just concentrated on the iPhone version. Not worth getting the HD if you have the iPhone version. The iPhone version got updated with more levels while the iPad version didn't. The iPhone version looks fine (x2 scaling) on the iPad. The iPad version is $5 while the iPhone (yes, more levels) is $1.

The iPad version seems also slightly choppy in the framerate compared to on the 3gs.

Yeah think I'll give it a miss. Just been playing the iPhone version on my iPad and it's playable plus I've already completed the game anyway. Shame you can't get a free update to iPad versions of games, especially games when there's no added content!

While I think that the iPad version is a bit overpriced compared to the iPhone version, I have both because I'm a big fan of the game and for me the higher quality graphics is worth the price, especially if you're trying to get three stars in all levels.

True. Quite overpriced.

iPad version = 105 levels
- released 9 weeks ago and NEVER got an update
- Price: $4.99
- Graphics optimized for the ipad screen but at the cost of lower framerate

iPhone version = originally 135 levels
- got updated with 15 levels 2 weeks ago. = 150 levels total
- Price: $0.99
- has received 5 updates since release
- looks fine upscaled x2 for the iPad screen

How is Space Station HD? It's on sale, I believe, for $1.99 and looks pretty interesting.

One that I would add to the list is Mirror's Edge. Easily the most played game on my iPad since the uk launch, looks great, simple to play, satisfying to control, solid storyline and loads of replay value. Best platform game I've played on any iDevice and the swipe controls avoid the problems onscreen joystick and button combos run into.

Sounds good.
I avoid games with onscreen joystick. It's a shoddy solution. Controls should be built for the touch screen, onscreen joysticks and onscreen keypads are just an inferior emulation of controls designed for a different system.
