You can't deny that people will jailbreak regardless if Apple thinks it's legal or not. I'm not questioning the morality of it... just stating a fact.

You said, "People do a lot worse things than jailbreak a phone." That implies there is something "wrong" with jailbreaking a phone, which is a moral judgement.

I am sure Apple will attempt to force JB community out of commission, which isn't quite difficult if they just go after Dev Team.

Legality aside, when you said "People do a lot worse things than jailbreak a phone.", that's reference to moral values. Again like I said, don't mix legal with moral.

Jailbreaking is "now" a legal issue, not moral related.
 
Here's a good reason to jailbreak:

It's my phone, I bought it and I can do whatever the helll I want to it. Would anybody not install 3rd party applications on their Mac unless they are certified by Apple? Apple should have absolutley NO say in what I do with MY phone.
