I've used lots of vacuums. They all did a plenty fine job of cleaning, and were more or less all the same. The vacuum I've got know is a cheap pile of crap, but it sucks up the dirt just as it's supposed to.

Shopvacs are great, but I think of those as vacuums for the interior of my car, and the garage, lol. I've never thought to use one indoors.

Could not agree more. Dyson machines cost a small fortune, last longer than most cars, perform as advertised, and years down the road still perform as advertised. It's well worth the money if you have a lot of carpet as you will be breathing better, physically working less (they are light, designed to work with your body, and easy to move about), over time saving money, and enjoying it for years. Our Dyson is older than our current house and it runs no different than the day we bought it. They are well worth their crazy price tag as it really will be the last vacuum cleaner you buy.
