So it is a new feature in iOS9. Opening and swiping back and forth through Glances while driving is extremely dangerous and also requires you to 'remember' to look.

I have paired Glances down to just a couple of things (Batt, Remote, Weather, HR) because it is too much swiping to find things.

It just shows up on your :apple:Watch like a regular Notification and you must Dismiss it. It is vey convenient and completely proactive.

Correct, the notification aspect is a new feature in iOS 9. A number of members were posting like we've never had Frequent Locations in the Watch, which isn't true.

Apple collects actual GPS location directly from your iPhone. It is in Settings: Privacy: Location Services

This is what Apple says. They use collected GPS to augment crowd source data collected from cell towers and wifi triangulation.

I originally said Apple was aggregating info. However did you read before posting? There is nothing stated about cell towers and wifi triangulation (unless I can't read). Again I don't doubt Apple is using all kinds of info but your 'proof' contains no supporting evidence. It also supports what I stated was a LARGE source of data for Apple, GPS data.

Apple said:
Traffic-If you are physically moving (for example traveling in a car) your iPhone will periodically send GPS locations and travel speed information and an anonymous an encrypted form to Apple to be used for augmenting crowd-sourced road traffic database.

is this for only the b4 version of ios9 or will it happen with the public beta2 as well?

Does anybody know if it's only the phone that learns or is this kept on my Apple ID? I'll be getting the new iPhone on release and although this isn't a deal breaking feature, it would definitely be nice to have all of this carried over.

It's on the phone as long as you have Frequent Locations turned on and Location Services enabled. Takes around 10 days before it learns your driving habits. Worth noting that restoring from a backup deletes previous Frequent Locations data.
