NON-GEEK???

Everything that you mention is pretty much a geek request.

Any normal user like my mom, girlfriend, non-tech friends couldn't care less about this wish list.

Exactly. If you're a member of a site dedicated to Apple products, you're not a "non-geek". I'm not even sure what "geeky" features are anyways...

No night mode for me on iPad...just tested in a dark room apparently it does not turn on night mode on standard map view.

Change the time to sometime at night, then start a navigation. Works on iPhone 5. I'll check iPad when I get home.

Tell me were you complaint no cut copy and paste back then? Seriously... If you dislike people complaining, then don't join this thread... The title is scramming at you that somebody is complaining....

You just seems fine whatever Apple throw at you even if missing essentially features... While others are not...

Don't like iOS? SWITCH.

What do you do instead?

Talk crap about Apple and then be the FIRST person to install the new Beta of iOS 8.

Troll on.

I don't understand the mentality of some of you. You complain about features that aren't there but yet are willing to wait a year for it to possibly be added?

If features that mattered a lot to me were missing in iOS I'd be jumping ship in a heartbeat. Not complaining for a year about it missing but yet sticking with it in the hope that it MAY get added in the next version.

Maybe because we're not feature-crazed kind of guy?

I'm pretty happy with the OS ATM (well, maybe not for the look but that another thread) and if we can have all these features now it will be super but it's not the end of the world if we can not. What's so hard to not understand?

How? 1, 2 and 3 is very simple. 4 and 5 will make my life much easier. And all of these doesn't require any setting. It just work! :)

I send out group emails occasionally on my iPad. It seems to remember who I send to. For example, I will send an email to a few of my coworkers. I will have to manually add them the first time, but after that they all show up under recents as a group.

I meant the ones you already grouped them in Contact.

Think of these features in term of how easy you can teach to your wife/mom/pop and they can do it immediately, without any confusion.

Why can't you like something and still see deficiencies in it that you might feel strongly about (and be vocal about) and keep on hoping that with every update something related to those deficiencies might get addressed in some way? Most things in life aren't just black or white, so to say.

It's one thing to accept iOS the way it is and be hopeful that new features get added that already exist elsewhere.

It's another thing to be condescending and demanding of Apple as if your very own father owns the company.

Yes, I guess there's that side of it all too.

I think it has to be literally night (its based on time, not ambient light, or maybe it's a combo of both). This is 100% there in iOS7, at least on iPhone 5s.

It's a combo of both. I think location and sundown time plus ambient light sensor.

But it doesn't do night mode on my retina mini with iOS 8. So it seems intentional that iPad doesn't have night mode.

There is already a dark keyboard, it's API. Just up to developers if they want to utilize it. Reference TweetBot to see it in use (you have to use their dark theme to see it).

LOL at people who want night mode in maps and seem to have only seen it on an iPad. You clearly don't regularly navigate via maps... it's there as it should be.

i want to set up my default application and

i really want to be able to download free apps from the app store without typing my password, its annoying as hell to type my long password for a free app
