ahh i hate that site
thats what all the dumb kids in my grade have and talk about
really a pointless waaste of time
wohhho look at pictures and post about them
im not crapping just stating my personaly opinion on them

Ewww, I hate myspace. They manage bandwidth terribly. The styles are pretty bad. You are too limited on what you can do. It's just down right horrible.

Too limited? I think they give users too much freedom on customising their pages. I swear Safari has a hard time trying not to crash when reading some profiles on there due to the horrid horrid coding.

Of note, I'm on there...somewhere, but I haven't updated my profile in like a year since I never use it. I could never get the hang of those social networking sites like Myspace or Friendster or whatever, what's wrong with keeping in touch via e-mail or hell, even the phone?

hehe I'm sure arbitraging mac / electronic goods and re-selling them is something that really interests them.

I don't use myspace but I use its older brother thefacebook, and its pretty entertaining.

It's definitely not limited. Some pages have a video per comment, which really messes with most machines. I've no doubt that's why the WMP and Flash plug-ins lock up constantly.

My profile page is definitely not extreme. I like things simple and it goes a lot more slowly than most others but then I also have profiles on Friendster and RealPics for whatever reason. Since RealPics started to allow customisation, all 3 profiles look pretty much alike.

Beyond page dynamics, I really use myspace just to keep in touch better with people I know. I like it because I can waste plenty of time looking at other profiles, reading blogs and looking at photos, whether they be leisure or artistic. It intrigues me because people put there personalities onto a webpage as a form of an identity. I believe the creative element is what keeps me maintained.

I agree. And whats worse is that all these kids are copy-pasting the same filthy code from one another over and over again. It's like a little hipster epidemic. I did find, however, that turning off plugins in Safari will prevent it from crashing, but what a pain.

Whatever, it's a great place to promote your music. http://www.myspace.com/dylankenney

Yea... I actually have a MySpace too. I was reluctant to get one, I thought they were a waste of time too, but it's kinda cool to get all your friends on there and talk to people you haven't seen in a while, or that have moved away. For my blogging, however, I use WordPress on my personal site. (See Sig)

i dont have a personal one but i just use my band's myspace, www.myspace.com/thenewrepublic. I'm the drummer as well as the first pic, be our friend and let me/us know what you think of our really low quality crap live recordings...just note we have no audible vocals normally and have a bunch more originals that aren't up...also the one that isn't live was with an old drummer, who wasn't that good i might add. :)

Not a fan of myspace.
I have recently run into two different girls who I knew years back. In both cases we talked for hours - had a good time. Then before leaving, she said "look me up on myspace and we can hang out..."
My interpretation of this-
"stay away" . I've been told I'm wrong. about soooo many things.

But - come on. What an impersonal, detached way of doing things.

I've got one.

I tend to hate it as it reams my Safari...I'll run into someone's profile which is embedded with audio, video, animated gifs, and other annoying things, and I end up having to force quit Safari.

Recently though I have been put in touch with alot of people from back in high school and earlier that I thought I would never be in contact with again. So I do find that fact of it appealing.

I've heard a lot of groups on MySpace just starting out and it's good for that.

In fact, one of my very good friends and I started out with his music.

Good luck with your adventure.
