Yeah... I don't really like MySpace, but it's kinda a "requirement" to have one if you're in highschool thesedays. I don't blog there (I still use Xanga, which is a far superior blog site).

I've heard a lot of groups on MySpace just starting out and it's good for that.

In fact, one of my very good friends and I started out with his music.

Good luck with your adventure.
thanks, ya we actually got a gig on South Street in Philly (AMAZINGLY HUGE) just from some guy browsing myspace for new local acts...very nice indeed. :)

LMFAO. OMG. That is hilarious. It's so true too. Most people I know are on Myspace. However, I have refused to be. I am protesting the biggest trend on social networking. Down with Myspace!!!!!

I see that everyday! Stupid immature teenage girl who has more time on her hands than an old person.

I know South Street quite well since I'm a former Philly area person, who's probably returning shortly.

There are big names on MySpace but you have to know where to look or be visible in great ways. One of my friends runs a small distribution and booking organisation and makes contacts through MySpace, along with more standard methods.

myspace and friendster are becoming big enough to merit their own forms of the email Nigerian bank scams.
I detest the social networking sites, but have obligatory accounts. After cleaning them out recently I was alarmed by several unsolicited messages that stank of scamminess.

MySpace has its share of (Free!) webcam spam.

Though I'll have to say, I like Friendster alot more. Mainly since every other sentence spoken at my work (it's a high school) is about MySpace; and it's starting to infultrate the college I go to... That and I found my gf on Friendster, lol.

After clicking on a few it's come to my attention I loathe myspace.com

It's pointless, annoying, and generally unpleasant to a majority of my senses.

its made for college/high school bands to get themselves out there (since they forgot that mp3.com is for that)

and for the weirdos who dont just troll forums online (like us) but actually want to put themselves, pictures and all, out there for some kind of social acceptance in the form of COMMENTS on your posts and images. Its all types of stupid I cant even begin.

as for it being a place to keep in contact with people you lost touch with (ol school buds) try google or a people search. how good of a friend are you if all you do is post a phrase or sentence comment on their blog, cmon thats dumb.

hmm i think this picture says it all

I agree. And whats worse is that all these kids are copy-pasting the same filthy code from one another over and over again. It's like a little hipster epidemic. I did find, however, that turning off plugins in Safari will prevent it from crashing, but what a pain.

Whatever, it's a great place to promote your music. http://www.myspace.com/dylankenney

Nice tunes! Listening to them while doing a little work.
