The only reason I have a case on miners for ergonomics. I watch lots of YouTube and find I really need it held up at an angle.

Naked when in use, colcasac sleeve for transport.

As a bit of commentary, I really wish people would stop using OCD, it is a real disorder and your minute concerns over damage on a device does not qualify.

I prefer a case. Whether or not it stops much, it's well worth it for my peace of mind given what I paid for the iPad.

All of my iOS devices are naked. I do use a smart cover when I need it proped up, but it's not normally attached. My iMac though I gave a gorilla case on that one.

Anyone here rocks it naked & proud ? :D

If I was ridiculously wealthy and wasn't likely to sell my iPad after I've finished with it then I'd be tempted. But all Apple products have a good resale value on eBay. I've sold two Mac laptops now after two/three years using them for around half the price I bought them for. This is something nobody ever factors in when complaining about the high price of Apple hardware.

But I'd still want some kind of back cover to protect the iPad corners, because this is where it's likely to land if I drop it, and something like a silicon cover helps absorb shocks and avoid the screen cracking. I might be ridiculously wealthy in this scenario but it's still irritating if I drop the thing at a cafe and it shatters.

The iPad is astonishingly delicate for a device that's supposed to be completely portable. A big piece of glass backed by aluminum that you can probably gouge with your own nail! One day, when it's possible to throw a tablet out of a 10th floor window without even grazing it, we'll look back on this and laugh!

All my devices are naked. I get the odd scratch here and their but nothing to cry about. In fact I'm always slightly relieved when I see the first scratch! Once that's happened I relax and start to enjoy the device for what it is.

iCarbon white carbon fiber skin on the back and $3 crystal clear screen protector up front for full scratch protection.

For drops I leave it in a Colcasac sleeve when travelling.

I always rock my iPhone naked, have a folio case on the iPad for optimal movie watching tho :D

Yeah that's my problem as well. All my devices are in MINT/PREEMO condition. I have 5 year old devices that still look new.

I still have my Handspring Visor Deluxe in mint condition. I haven't used it in a lot of years so it's spent about a decade sleeping in its original packaging.

My iPad has been in the otterbox deffender Since I pulled it out of the box. ( like I didn't even turn it on first) ... I want it to be absolutely perfect....
But I'm kinda crazy so yeah

Otterbox defender. Keeps it in perfect condition. I had my first gen in an otterbox and sold it for $225 to help pay for my new iPad. Condition is everything.

I am the same way. That is the ONLY way to do it!!

My iPad 3 is naked. I normally have a Switcheasy Nude on my iPads but they didn't have one available at launch so I went without while waiting for it. Now I've gotten used to it not having a case and got over the scratch factor (on the back.) It just feels how it was meant to be, light and thin. I keep it in an Incase sleeve while on the go though.

My iPad 2 got several scratches from regular use. I take it with me to work and on trips a lot. I got the incipio feather case for it. Looks great, feels great, works with the smart cover. I'm very happy with it.
