But people for fast wireless charging you will need to remove the case/cover because with s7 edge wirelessly charging the phone is slow. Also don't know whether apple supports wireless charging with case/cover or not.

Do you know about fast wireless charging whether it be done with or without case on 8 or X?
Heard a few reports that wireless charging still works through cases.

If a case manufacturer does the right thing, they'd confirm it on their website. If not, best to ask them before buying.

If I get the X Im thinking of going naked for the first time in years. But for transportation in my pocket I will buy a nice leather slip pouch with soft microfibre lining. Safe when travelling, naked when in use. Difficult to get out of your pocket to check notifications quickly, but thats what the Apple Watch is for.

Ditto.

I'll use a case, but only a super thin one (Caudabe are my favorite). I don't like placing the phone down on anything for fear of scratches, but never drop it.

all of my iPhones i've used cases. minimal cases, snap on cases or apple leather cases. i think for the X i will not use a case - possibly a leather back skin is about the most i may do.

no case usually means no resale value, because nobody wants scratched and teared device with dust inside the camera

I’ve never used a case and I definitely wouldn’t start with what is perhaps the best looking iPhone ever made (aside from the stupid notch).

This has never been a problem for me, but I take care of my stuff.

I found that (minimal) cases were necessary starting with the slippery iPhone 6, although I now use a card wallet case on my SE, simply because it allowed me to get rid of my regular wallet.

I’m thinking of doing something like this since it seems like my pockets are always full of sand-like particles. Doesn’t help that I live next to the beach :p.

maybe we all can start the first Macrumors Nudist Club.

who will join?

$50 per year contribution and I will send a magazin out every 3 months

:D

Whether I get the 8, X, whatever, no case, ever. Personally, I love the look of the iPhone, and I want to see the thing when I use it. The last iPhone I had a case on was the iPhone 3G.

Naked 99% of the time. My iPhone as well.

I'll occasionally throw on a K11 bumper which is about as minimalist as I've been able to find that still offers some protection when needed.

I might since kate spade is coming out with a polka dot one for the X and her cases are usually thin. if I don't get that case then i'll just put a skin on it...

Nope but I'm considering getting AppleCare this time around – learnt my lesson after getting the Jet Black iPhone 7 last year

OTOH if you only paid to replace the screen once, you probably broke even or even came out ahead of purchasing AC+.

That's true. I wonder what the iPhone X repair cost will be and if it'll break even compared to buying AC+.

How much are third party screen repairs? Assuming you don't need to fix anything else in the future, the voided warranty is a non issue.

I personally don't drop my phone often, and have never had any problems with any electronics aside from "normal" battery degradation after several years of use. So apple care for me is a waste.

Been using my iPhone caseless since the 3GS. Thus I won't get one for the X either.
