Lack of instand que function. Like Spotify: Right click, que song. And after that song it just continues from where it was. No need to create new playlists. Bugs me everytime. On the mac and on the iphone.

If iTunes is to be good it needs to be gutted completely and built from scratch with the core features of the program in mind. It's called iTunes yet it offers tv, films, podcasts, Genius, and not to mention a fricking social network.. Even if that doesn't affect performance it will certainly affect usability. Take a leaf out of Spotify's book, you search for music, you play music, you can add it to a playlist, that's it. And it has a kick ass UI (hey Apple, if you're going to randomly change the iTunes UI so it's inconsistent with the rest of OS X at least make it look good).

While I otherwise agree, Spotify is the last example I'd use for good UI design. Having the playback controls on the bottom and everything else at the top is a failure from the start. Likewise the tabs for everything are easily lost so you end up wondering how to see the rest of the biography etc. info.

Not to mention Spotify seems keen to add the social networking crap too and so far it has been poorly implemented. Even worse is the local files thing...

I decided to cancel my Spotify Premium account because the computer app is poorly designed and the iPhone app is even worse, requiring restarts sometimes to get it to go online.

Not that something like foobar2000 is the most user friendly thing either but at least it's fast and doesn't try to be anything but a music player.

I for one like iTunes. This latest version starts so much quicker than earlier versions. I've never had any bad experiences with it. Maybe I just don't know any better.

If I had to pick anything to improve it would be making the library structure more flexible. It would be nice to be able to point to multiple libraries on multiple disks and have iTunes see them as one contiguous library.

Honestly, I love iTunes.

I have a mix of lossless and AAC files and have no problems with speed on my 13" MBA.

As soon as I click the iTunes icon in my dock it opens and the library is loaded within 3 seconds; which to me is perfectly acceptable considering I have well over 6000 songs + HD TV shows and movies.

iTunes is #1 at feature creep. Which annoys the crap out of me.

Also, the UI is all over the place. Like when they added "grid" view, then removed the ability to use a dark background. Then they put it back, but there were even darker squares around the icons. WTF apple?

And the Prefs menu... why does it constantly get reorganized?

Ping ruined the iTunes store links.

And why did they change "switch to miniplayer" to shift+cmd+M? Cmd+Z was way easier. Not that I didn't edit the shortcut, but why did I have to?

edit: And no FLAC support. That's just ridiculous in 2011.

Aaaahhh, iTunes. How you peck at me...

The fact that they keep loading it up with new worthless features that make it a little bit slower with each update.

Multitouch

Theres no skip back and forward like QTX.

Sidescrolling windows i.e. screenshots in the store you have to perfectly swipe up or down or you end up getting stuck in the window.

People using the reviews to bitch about the price - write a review about the damn song/ film/ app for goodness sake!

the new logo. ;)

So change it :)

the album art in the corner, i want it to always show my playing song, not the song selected. You can't get it to stay anymore.

Missed shot...

1. The Icon/Logo.
2. The Vertical Buttons??? WTF?? not cool at all.
3. Slow.
4. PING! WTF v2.0???....
5. The Sort by Albums at the left??? That should be removable. It makes my music look disorganized! Terrible.

It would be nice to be able to disable parts of the application that we don't want to use, then they don't load, like video or Ping.

TEG

The bloat.
Syncing iOS devices should be done in another application. Cut ringtones out. Kill off Ping. Remove movies and anything else that doesn't directly relate to music.

Take out coverflow, album view, sidebars, and make the search box instantly filter when I start typing. That used to work, but now my library is too big or something and there's a delay when filtering.

What the thing going on about ping, if you don't like it don't use it. That simple. I don't use it and have no problem with the whole ping stuff. Or am i doing something wrong?
