if i walk into a bedroom like that, i'll make an excuse and leave.
Not my thing, I don't get these RGB lights, to me it's like fake art/Kitsch.

Something for a whorehouse, sorry, my opinion.

i see these color lightings through people's windows and i don't get it. it's hideous and can't possibly make you feel good. the unit across from me always has this really blue light and they light candles. like wtf would you bother having candle light just to overpower it with artificial blue light?

I think i'll pass. For a decent number to look good (like the one above the sofa) is gonna set me back $900!
Did I miscount? It's 36 segments, with 9 for $200, so just $800.

Which, yes, is still way too much.

They need to offer bigger packs at lower prices per line.

Give me 100 for $1000 or something.

“...smart lighting technology with an ultramodern design.” Can someone explain to me what “ultramodern” means? Is there some timescale within which something modern is actually “ultra” modern? Maybe something announced within the last few days, or hours? Or is it quantitative - by heaping layers of “modern” on top on each other, something becomes ultramodern? Or scale? Is there a “nanomodern?” Or is there actually an ultramodern the way there’s a, say, “post-apocalyptic”? While you’re at it, can someone describe why a few scraps of metal, translucent plastic, some LEDs and a circuit board are worth $200?

They still make a healthy profit.

Nowadays these smart thingies are way overpriced.
Just look at Aliexpress prices, while there's quite a bit of junk, there's also decent stuff for about 10% of the prices we pay in the west.
And yes, I do get that people have to have profits, but not that steep.

I wonder why they made them all the same length. It limits the kind of shape you can achieve. Definitely can see syncing a light show to some Claire Chase ... except her music seems to have disappeared from Apple Music, too bad ;-(
Wow. One never knows where they will find some music recommendations. Yes, she is gone from Apple Music, but I just tried her on Spotify on my Apple TV and 5.1 sound system and I can totally see how syncing her music up to these lights would be freaky cool.

I've priced the square ones out for my music studio, I think a partial wall came to just over $1,000. That's for an array of those things about 8ft wide and 4 ft high. Pricey. This is great if you have a YouTube channel, I guess. I would have hoped these would come down a bit since the originals have been out for years.

I've been using Nanoleaf lights since the first triangle panels, and like them a lot.

There is a certain amount of overhead in keeping them paired with HomeKit, though. Every year or so there's some frustrating wrangling to be done, because the pairing application is very stingy on providing feedback when there's a pairing problem, saying basically, "Nope! Try again. Good luck!"
love the lights , the software is awful , still no landscape mode on the ipad . Cmon !!

I think this looks better than some of the other products they make. But only 9 lines for $200? That's not enough to make hardly any pattern. And then you have to pay a lot higher price per bar for the expansion?

I think they pretty much exclusively sell these to Twitch streamers and YouTubers.

Outlets, Nanoleaf, outlets. Just makes a f__ outlets with thread support will you?

For me these Nanoleaf products are completely impractical.

Just use Philips Hue, or some cheaper equivalent, to control your real life home lights and leave the BS art for show home style scenarios.
I get this, but I have to say that I really like my nano leafs (leaves?). Not very utilitarian but it makes my office space a little more my own. And i think they look cool

For the “basics” you speak of — light bulbs and light strips — Nanoleaf is a cheaper equivalent to Hue lights. Way cheaper.
This is the way. Hue is super nice, but every hue bulb I have cost $45 - $50 while my nanoleaf bulb cost $20.

On the other hand, Hue has a much larger selection. and their app i'd say is a bit more intuitive than nanoleaf's. This is also a small thing, but when nanoleaf transitions (turns on, off, etc) it just . . . happens. Hue has a cool fade effect. Again, not a big thing - just something i noticed.
