Untrue. Especially when you have a Sony RX100.

Thats true, nothing beats the RX100 it is the new standard for P&S cameras.
It is the only way to keep a few years in front of smartphones.

The others ones are to similar to the new phones like iPhone 5S, Samsung S4, HTC One and Nokia 1020.

That being said I still take more pics with iPhone and Samsung S4 due the fact I always carry my phone. But still my RX100 is far far ahead of the phones!

I wish I was!:D

I have taken a close look at Samsung Note 3, Sony Xperia Z1 and Nokia Lumia 1020. Because I am bored with my iPhone 5, and iPhone 5s does not have enough new "goodies" for me to upgrade.

After reading numerous reviews and watching reviews on youtube as well as holding above mentioned phones in my hand - Nokia Lumia 1020 is going to be my next smartphone. The camera is outstanding! Just have to wait for my next "paycheck" before I can get my hands on it.

I left my iPhone 5 for Samsung S4. To get some of the goodies, like bigger screen, microSD card and more. It was fun - for a month or two, but then....Now I am eagerly waiting to go back to 5S. I missed the iPhone experience. Perhaps less goodies and a little boring, but it is rock solid and is has the stuff I need. I would however like to whack Cook/Ive's for not giving me option for 5¨display. As the 1020 has some great features it is still a Nokia Windows phone. Are you sure you are willing to take that just for the camera? Then rather buy a RX100 and a cheap phone.

A professional photographer who is used to shooting hundreds of pictures for each one that gets published.

I was referring to the iPhone 5S and I can't see many "professional photographers" using this device to shoot 4000 pictures so quickly. My post was not about someone shooting 4000 pictures in general. I'm sure professionals do that on the whim as it's their livelihood.

Sluggish performance? It takes a while for the high-res pictures to be saved. The phone feels every but as fast and fluid as the 5S otherwise

Thanks for making my case.

That time to save means you are missing photo opportunities; a tradeoff of high resolution over performance.

And this is an article about a professional photographer who did.
