iPad version

So far this program has worked great for me, even on a (now) old 3G iPhone.
I've seen all the problems people are having and I guess I'm just lucky.

Works even better and faster on the iPad. The only problem I now have is when are they coming out with a real iPad version. Running in 2X sucks.

GPS on iPad question

I have the iPad 3G but have not activated the 3G network as yet. I noticed on a recent trip that the GPS in Google maps still works even without the 3G service (probably old news to most of you). Can you tell me if I were to buy an app like Navigon, would it still work without the 3G service, or is 3G required for the app?

Good morning, all:
If you jailbreak your iPad (takes about 7 seconds), you can download "FullForce" on Cydia (free).

Thank you. Just did the above on our iPad and it works great. I'm wondering if you have found a solution so that the menu items under options can be read? In our case the background is light grey and the menu items are white on white, making them not readable. Does anyone have a solution ?

I also have this problem problem after updating to the 1.6 version was ok with 1.5.

Does running in 2x mode on the iPad result in pixellation like other 2x mode apps I've seen such as Skype? Or does the image quality look like it is optimized for iPad?

NAVIGON apps are universal (download/price button has a "+" sign which indicates universal), meaning it runs at full resolution under both iPhone (including Retina on iPhone 4) and iPad. There's no scaling. The app has different UI for iPad.

For those who bought the Wi-Fi only, no worries. You can still have full GPS functionality on it too! Though...you have to jailbreak your iPad first. Download "Roqy BT" from Cydia. Purchase a small GPS receiver which there are many and very cheap (Amazon has plenty). Connect your iPad using the RoqyBT (Bluetooth) to the GPS receiver and viola! You're in the game! About $40 total for the purchase of RoqyBT and a GPS receiver.

You could also use the TomTom cradle with a pass through cable, when not used for it's used as a iPhone cradle. Works really well and doesn't require a jailbreak. Since I did this with my iPad 1 wifi I have bought a iPad 2 3G so no more hooking up.
