I don't have a problem with any one who disagrees with what I'm saying. What we as humans need to do, is, learn how to disagree without being disagreeable, as well as hateful. I alway read where someone is calling someone else a fanboi. Well, I am a fanboi. A fanboi of technology and technology only. I just prefer to use what works and Apple devices just work.
Most people can't seem to see beyond their own preferences. Consider the source, as always.

As for "fanboy", common usage of the word is to refer to those who irrationally stand up for a brand or product. There are plenty of those all over the place. Again, most people can't see beyond their own preferences and being a fanboy is just a symptom of that problem. Again, alway consider the source. Fanboys aren't worth holding discussions with IMO. There's no point in trying to talk to someone who stubbornly refuses to listen.

A lot of fanboys and even non fanboys seem to derive pride, self image and whatnot from products that they own which is also part of the problem. They're either too immature or have some other problem that prevents them from separating criticism of their chosen products from criticism of themselves. I am not what I buy. Sadly, for many people, the opposite is true.

...and I agree, tl;dr. You're not going to fix the problem with this rant -- especially written the way it currently is.

Everyone has a right to free speech, to express their opinions and to have their preferences.

It would be a very dull and mind numbing world if there were no choices, but to buy what the dictator put in front of them.

We are very lucky to live in a free country, a fact that is often all to easily forgotten by many.
They're certainly free but mindless speech is dull and mind numbing. People that can't understand that others may have entirely different preferences and needs that result in entirely different criteria for what is or isn't "best" are certainly free to express their opinions but I'm not going to bother with paying any attention to them. Sadly, the majority of forum users seem to fall into that category.

I mean, for example: "X is best, Y sucks" doesn't make for interesting or insightful discussion. "X is best because of 1, 2, 3 and I need 4, 5, 6 but I don't care about 7, 8, 9" on the hand makes for actual discussion. People reading that comment can compare where they stand versus the stated opinion. A bunch of fanboys posting what they like or don't like is not an interesting thread.

Remember the days of the Windows vs Mac days? How those days and the people were so stupid. Now we have the Android vs iPhone days and still people don't understand that this is a stupid and pointless argument.
People have always been dumb. Same as it ever was. It's much more than just Mac vs PC and Android vs iPhone. Look at everything else in life: Republican versus Democrat, Christian vs non-Christian, Ford vs Chevy... Most people only seem to understand the world through dichotomies for some reason. Their loss. Reality has more depth when you can appreciate the shades of grey.

We always tend to separate ourselves into "us" and "them". If you want to have meaningful discussions it's important to not let that tendency drive the discussion. The person you don't agree with isn't your enemy -- just a person who has reached a different answer probably because of entirely different needs, wants, history, experience, etc. It always helps to realize that your own preferences and situation aren't universal by any means.

THIS. Ultimately agree.

Actually he has a point. Remember the days of the Windows vs Mac days? How those days and the people were so stupid. Now we have the Android vs iPhone days and still people don't understand that this is a stupid and pointless argument.

Reminds me of politics.

People will stick by there "leaders", even it means there certain doom.

Be it countries (Gahdafi supports in Libya), political parties (as seen in extreme wings of US system), or gear (iPhone vs Android).
