the terps lost to the zags tonight... the terps shot almost 50% from the floor, but had 20+ turnovers... not a good combination. darryl strawberry looked strong though!!

WOW! did anyone else watch the msu/gonzaga game tonight? triple overtime? awesome contest...

watching the final of the arizona/uconn game now... both teams look good early, i think the huskies are going to win it, up by a few with a few seconds left...

great start to a season!! love the close games

Im actually quite jealous of your free time to watch these games. Unfortunately having a three year old doesnt leave me much time for tv except for spongebob and sesame street of course. On the fortunate side I do work at ESPN and can watch reruns of these games occasionally. but the fun is definately lost.

I guess I can look forward to your recaps gwuMACaddict. Thanks.

Although I was disappointed to see MSU lose, it was a great game. The missed basket at the end of the third overtime for MSU was a killer. He was right there. Ah well.

Illinois cruised last night, and got some good playing time for the bench, but they really haven't played any really good teams yet. Can't wait to see them against UNC and how they handle that game on the road.

this maui tournament has been the best in recent memory i think- every game competetive (mostly), with decently ranked teams...

maryland just won, so happy about that...

Illinois defeats UNC ... I wish there was a ring or national championship behind this one ...

Yeah - you could tell there was a lot of emotion on the floor tonight. Illinois didn't play particularly well, but then again, neither did UNC. Just happy to get out of the Dean Dome with a W.

Duke>UNC! Duke rules. Stop hatin' playa. Either you are a baller or you wish you was! You might beat the five guys on the floor, on your best day, but it is tough to out coach Coach K... and don't forget about the sixth man either!!! ACC is the toughest conference in the NCAA. Just my 2 cents.
Let's Go Duke!

^^^^^^^
not thinking you actually go to duke with grammar like that...

and give me a break already about coach k's "talent"... the way that dude recruits, he ought to win the national title every year...

i think that unc surprised some people last night... didn't expect it to be as close as it was- illinois can thank dee brown for keeping them in the game... granted, unc has some serious home court advantage...

People forget that although Illinois is returning 2 starters from last season, most of the kids on the floor are fairly inexperienced, and their current starters don't have a ton of playing time together.

UNC has a bunch of talent, and home court advantage, so it's about what I expected.

As for Duke and Coach K - I have a ton of respect for a program that can be so good so consistently. The talent that pours into that program is amazing - and most of that is due to K. But they'll have their hands full tonight at Indiana. Right now the ACC-Big 10 Challenge is knotted at 3 each. 5 more games to go...

ever since i watched an espn interview, where coach k said that he yells at himself in the mirror after losses, i've been completely creeped out by him...

I'd be more worried about what he does if they win... :D

{flaming OFF} Last time I checked, recruiting was part of every coaches job. If someone had a chance to play for Coach K, why would they choose Roy-boy and the 'Tools .. or anyone else for that matter. Coach K is the most successful modern day coach. PERIOD. Yelling at himself in the mirror is probably something he was taught while playing under the junta of Coach Knight. It proves the degree of passion he has about the game. Passion is something that everyone should apply to what they do if they want to know what it is to live. As for the grammar, I took license to express my joy that the season is finally underway by using the form of linguistics that one might hear if they were fortunate enough to be seated near the floor of any NCAA game (unless they have a seat at Cameron, in which case they couldn't hear much more than the Cameron Crazies!!!). Oh Yeah Baby!!!! This year they are really Diaper Dandy's, and they are gonna powder everyone else's collective backsides.

fair enough... but bad grammar hardly constitutes a "form of linguistics"

linguistics

n 1: the scientific study of language 2: the humanistic study of language and literature

;) :D

they haven't blown anyone out yet, and have narrowly won a few... it'll be an interesting season

First off I should mention that i like Duke, and I think Coach K is excellent. I cheer for Duke over UNC any chance I get. That being said, Duke always reminds me of the Yankees. The Yankees win (worldseries') more than anybody else, and I'm never surprised when they do. The problem I have isthe garbage I have to hear every year about why they're going to do it. I don't care what Duke is expected to do this year too much, they'll contend as will Kentucky. Its going to consistently be that way. I also hate the fact that last during Illinois UNC, Dicky V talked more about Indiana/Duke than the game on hand.

Illinois got a verbal commitment from a big recuit for the class of 07 ... Eric Gordon. Yay.

At one point DV actually complimented the Illini - I think he was saying something about them being in the national "upper echelon" for some time to come. I almost dropped the weights I was bench-pressing and killed myself. All through the game, he kept talking about how wonderful UNC was and how fantastic their freshmen were.

Sure, they're good, but my god, if you're going to verbally masturbate over them, do it somewhere else.

well... maryland won tonight... so did gwu :D

illinois is hanging with duke in the first half... might have to stay up for this one...

INDIANA just took the lead ....

duke managed to win- a few sloppy turnovers at the end by indiana

also dissapointed that nc state lost a close one, have to root for my acc teams when nothing else is on :D

I swear I'm going to get a heart attack watching Illinois this year! Pulled out another one yesterday against a tough Xavier team. Three tight games already this season. Yuck.

We were spoiled last year ... our firt game without the lead at the half, Purdue - well into our conf, schedule, our first overtime, Iowa ( again conference), and our first loss wasn't until our 30th game ...

those types of games build character, I happen to think that if we hadn't lost to Ohio State we would not have made it past Arizona, Ohio State built character.

tonight is tough

watching gwu play maryland... never know who to root for- thankfully, the games are usually close...

was too lazy to go tonight, too cold outside- and a bit snowy...
