Could you name a few of them?
The UI is more engaging/customizable in general. Hell, this computer is more customizable in general.![]()
So you can’t name a few of them then? When “customisation” comes through the two bizarre comnpeting control panels and largely extends to turning off the on-by-default spying... No thanks. Windows is a dumpster fire.

or going into debt which I gladly would do for a new MacBook Pro when my 2011 totally diesThe funny thing is that people with an average household income of less than 15k/year are within 6 percentage points of being as likely to switch to the Mac as people with an average household income of more than 150k.
So, are the people in the <15k group planning on finding higher paying jobs or banking on winning the lottery?
Totally-- School sucks the life out of your wallet. I could not justify making it worse with the expense of a Mac. Yeah my PC isnt so fancy as a Mac, but at least it doesn't kill my wallet and I can upgrade parts on the go as I need. Don't get me wrong, Macs are nice and all, it's just not affordable.I live in a town with one large university and several smaller ones, and have observed an increasing number of college students are buying PCs over Macs. Whereas five years ago, an overwhelming majority of students were using Macs, that is becoming less and less the case the last couple of years. I still see students with MBPs and MacBooks, but they are mostly two or more years old (easy to tell with MagSafe and the lit up Apple on the back). Apple is pricing itself out of a lot of students' ability to pay, and PC hardware has become quite good for the price. You are also likely to see most faculty using nice PCs. A very popular one for faculty around here is the Dell XPS 13 running either Windows 10 or Linux. I've very rarely seen anyone around here with new Mac laptops.

That was a much more valid choice in 2010 than now. Mac hardware - desktops and laptops - was much better than most PC hardware at the time, and Vista was probably the worst OS Microsoft ever released. A lot of PC users switched to Macs after sampling Vista, and you got a lot better hardware for the money with a Mac purchase back then.

I agree. That's a lot of money ... I have not heard of anyone having that kind of consistent failure. What does Apple support have to say? I hope you're getting some replacement or compensation. I am currently using 2012 Macbook Pro and Ipad 3 ... both on its last legs. Your post has me thinking what I should do.
Well, considering you can change the appearance of Windows 10 almost entirely, that is at least three meaningful customisations that macOS can't do already.Leave hardware aside, unless you want to talk about actually comparable machines like a surface laptop (with ifixits lowest ever rating for repairibility). Leave it aside and enlighten me how Windows 10, as an operating system, is “much more customizable” than macOS. Since it’s “much more” I assume you will be able to describe at, at the very least, three meaningful customizations that achieve things not possible in macOS.

It’s a surface (pun unintended) level alteration. And it’s one, not three. Also, frankly, customizing the appearance of Windows 10 is like decorating the burning dumpster you’re living in.
PS if facile appearance changes are the “richer features” that someone mentioned that started this chain of responses... well...
OK, I'll give you two more things that are more customizable in Windows 10 vs. MacOS. You can customize how the touchscreen works and you can customize how the pen works... two input devices that the gods of cupertino have decided you don't get to use with MacOS.
You know how you can tell when someone has nothing intelligent to respond with... its when they start throwing out insults!

There's no reality to the survey. The market for PC\MAC has been shrinking for years, so in theory even if the same number of units were sold on Mac side, the market share would have increased. It hasn't. My guess is "This survey brought to you by Apple Inc" lol

Can't do it, can you.
windows 10 is just a hot mess of little problems that eventually turn into a complete clean reinstall. Mac OS just works and does it well. I have an early 2011 MacBook Pro 15 that still has the original battery in it and averages between 4-7 hours of run time depending on how it is being used. I have a 1 year old Lenovo Thinkpad laptop running windows 10 pro since I REFUSE to install windows on my beautiful MacBook Pro and I am lucky to get 2-3 hours of battery life out of it when it is used for storm chasing (weather radar) and email. that is all the Lenovo laptop gets used for and the only reason I own anything running any version of Microsoft crap is for storm chasing. otherwise I would only have Mac's and apple products since apple products just work and they are the ultimate devices.
It also supports a native Netflix app which allows for downloading shows and movies which makes it an awesome multimedia machine.
Windows 10 LTSB is the way to go.I don't use a mac, but I do use windows 10 and it's awful... Cortana and One drive are won't get out of your way... Windows app store insists on installing and reinstalling after you remove apps like candy crush...In addition the OS is bloated with useless apps including the new Edge...
