Sandy Bridge already supports 32GB.
Haswell might possibly go up to 64GB but I doubt it.
the mobile chips currently support 32gb?
didnt think so

wow ! do people still buy those bulky and ugly laptops ! they remind me of the 2000 and late laptops !
A laptop is a tool not a fashion statement.
Not an exhaustive list but some MBPros whose CPU can handle 32GB. Someone has to validate (2x16GB) 32GB SO-DIMMs to see if they'll work.
Some Sandy Bridge

They have no choice. They either cannot or unwilling to pay the so called "Apple tax".
Yes, I agree. I mentioned this before. The CPUs can handle it, but it's a problem of too few RAM slots in the MBP. Currently the biggest DIMMs that we can buy are 8 GBs, so we are restricted to 16 GBs. It's a waiting game for the 16 GBs DIMMs to show up. Some PC laptops have 4 slots, so they can go up to 32 GBs right now.
Just curious,
What do you need a 32GB of ram for? I mean 16GB is more then enough is that right? Say you use Adobe Premier, Final Cut X, Photopshop, Aperture, Any music production all Open at the same time. I think the 16GB can handle it pretty well. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Wouldn't 16GB last you about 5-6years in a 15" RMBP?
Thanks
