Well as for dual displays--- I don't know yet, I have not been able to get my hands on a 2nd 23" Cinema... yet. Found 2 locally in the Philadelphia area on CL, but they are asking for $800 and $600 respectfully. I don't think so. I'll wait until a nice one that looks good on ebay becomes available, and get it.

As for the MP Octad- WOW! I have only had it up and running since about 7am and it is super fast at opening apps and displaying graphics. The real test for me will be once I get Parallels loaded with ecchhh!! XP, and then the vertical market software that is basically the reason I got this mac.

It's a Windows program that takes Cone-Beam, CAT scan (Dicom) images, runs the image data thru it's processing algorithms and creates an incredible display of a 3-dimensional, ultra-accurate skull. It's used to analyze and plan for the surgical placement of dental implants. I have it running well on my venerable MBP 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo, but seems only capable of working in a Parallels virtual environment or Bootcamp. It's really an amazing tool.

Why can't you just get an adapater for the minidisplayport? I'm on dual monitors with my mac mini and 9400m. There is no way the mac pro with dedicated video card wouldn't work the same way.

Well, the miniDP to DVI will work, according to Apple but power-users be aware this cheapish adapter only supports 20~23" displays.

User like me who utilises dual (occasionally triple) 30" panels have to spend a little more for the troublesome Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI cable. Seriously for $100 bucks, I'd sooner buy a faster videocard from a third party and hack the firmware!! Why apple didn't go with the standard sized Display Port is seriously beyond me.
