I've had my motorola modem for 6 years now and it's finally dying, internet keeps dropping all day and speeds are terrible.

Even had comcast check the lines and reset my modem, I've also reset the modem everyday with no luck.

Which modem's do you suggest around $50? Thank you

btw docsis 3.0 isn't available in my area.

No contest. Get the SB6120 if you are in a DOCSIS 3.0 area, even if you aren't on the "Ultra" (22 Mbps) or "Extreme" (50 Mbps) d3 tiers. I'm provisioned to the 12 Mbps "Performance" speeds but I routinely edge closer to the "Blast!" speeds which are 16 Mbps (all these numbers ugh). Never have experienced less even in a high congestion area , and I always have rock solid pings.

This is because comcast's headend will let docsis 3.0 modem users "bond" onto more than one channel which allows us more consistency while everyone else uses those crappy arris and crusty SB5120 modems.

just read you aren't in docsis 3.0 area. Oh well, get it anyway.

Wow, thanks for the info! After reading the reviews on amazon about the sb6120 it looks like that's the modem to buy right now.

I'm also getting a lot of lag on xbox live with my sb120... not fun!
