i brought back the netgear and git this and the signal is alot better D-Link Xtreme N Gigabit Router (DIR655)

This is exactally what Im looking to do with my home network. So does that 500gb drive house your iTunes library as well as back ups? So everyone can back up to that drive as well as access that drive to control iTunes?
I wanted to do the same thing but add another 500gb drive dedicated for back ups and have the other drive just for media storage. But If I add 2 drives, can one of those drives back up the other? In other words, if I have a dedicated media drive, can the other drive be used to back up my machines as well as my media drive? Anyone know?
Also, txhockey9404, did you get a USB hub in order the use multiple USB devices with your Airport Extreme? And what kind of 500gb drive did you get?

I use that same 500gb drive for both iTunes and Backups, and like you, I am going to need another, however it is plenty roomy for one computer's backup and a relatively small library. Right now my library is at around 100gb for its 130gb partition, so I may need to expand soon. I am not sure about the one drive backing up another, but I could not point the single disk at the iTunes partition, so I would assume that it is impossible, however, you could always do a manual backup say once per month. I did get a USB hub, and it is powered, so make sure to get a powered hub. I have a Western Digital My Book Home Edition 500gb from Costco for about $120.

I am also looking at the Airport Extreme router. How hard is it to set up for Vista (wife's computer)? Do I need to install anything for Vista?
I was going to get the Time Capsule, but I think I'll wait on that from what I read.

Well in order to set the router up the first time you'll need Airport Utility on Vista. You just have to download it to set up the router. It's just a matter of setting it up the first time though.

Sory, but I am new to Mac and Apple, do I download it from apple.com or will it be on the disk that comes with the Airport?
