Why is everyone bashing this kid. Maybe his parents are very wealthy and love to see how happy he is when he gets these new things. If anything you guys are jealous so you are making fun of him. I am 16 and i am kind of in the same boat as him. I am fortunate to have two parents who are doctors and can afford a bunch of things. I am going to assume this kid does not go begging to his parents that he needs new things. I basically have what this kid has excepts for all the game consols (only have a 360) and a pretty nice car. I have all of this and I damn well know the real world will be tough so you cant just say this kid has no idea what it will be like. If your parents showered you with gifts would you not accept a few of them?

I think it was his attitude in this thread that provoked people to give him a hard time not so much people being jealous. My parents are pretty well off, but I don't go around listing everything they have bought me like I'm special. I agree with others on here. The kid can learn a lesson or two about modesty and act less like a spoiled child.

Alphaod: Good post and your parents should be proud of you. I'm sure they are.

Wow, all that stuff? You sure you use it all?

If you don't get rid of some of it, and use the money for a good education.

Meh, I'm only 14 I shouldn't give advice to someone a couple months older than me.

Ahem, I know I'm late but I have the best idea for you!

Ask for a movie called: "the ultimate gift"

Wow. I hope you enjoy the real world.

You may want to look into these new things called books, gan. You may not have heard of them. Its ok, you might be a little behind the times; its easy to get distracted while you are surrounded by so many flashing lights.

I got $600 in cash.
I am getting the Escalade or Yukon because my family needs a big car and I would drive it on the day to day basis since it would be a lease.

The first 3 were spot on - humility and modesty can only be learned through the real world - which someone like this will never understand to the fullest.

I really honestly wouldn't be proud to say mommy and daddy bought me so many shiny toys. I'd ask myself how many I bought myself, and then be ashamed to see the list of Did Vs Didn't. The word precocious comes to mind.

In honesty kid, do not lease a car. You spend all that time during the lease making payments on a car you technically do not own. At the end of the lease, you can either choose to buy the car, or return it to the dealer. Either way you're out a car or a substantial amount of cash, which would all have been unnecessary if you had good credit, a good amount in the bank, and gotten a cheaper SUV or other vehicle.

I find the Ford Expedition and Chevy Suburban have plenty of space. They do the same job as the Escalade - they get you from point A to point B with the same seating capacity, and fewer bells and whistles. Taking the price down anywhere from $20,000 to $40,000, which is the acceptable total purchase price I'd be looking for. See here. You needed the advice.
