need hardware help, anyone can help

Hi everyone, i have my macbook pro i5 15" .
one day i used my mate replaced power adapter to charge my mac then suddenly it stop charging anymore even no light come on magsafe..
the mac still work till the battery comes flat.
i checked the power points but i need someone expert to guide me where i can do the test points..

There won't be any power on the MagSafe connector unless it's plugged in and detects the MBP.

Try resetting the SMC. (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964)
