I'm looking into buying a new pair of sunglasses to protect my eyes from UV damage... and plus it just looks badass. :D

Only thing is that I've narrowed it down to two styles, aviators and squared off aviators.

The color, I'll have to worry about later. I'm just worried that combining aviators with my small face would equal my face being swallowed by the shades.

Any suggestions?

Damn, I thought this was going to be a Walshin thread.

I personally like the round ones better.

depends on your face, pics or it didn't happen.

no but seriously, it depends on your face. I would go try both on at wherever you would buy them, take a pic, post back on here, and we can give you advice.

I would have to agree with the others that said it depends on your face. I like the traditional ones better however.

Okay okay haha I'll post my pics.

1st picture: Kind of an old picture of me but I still have a pretty small face.
2nd picture: A pic I just took.

The aviators seem too big for my face but I feel like the Caravans are going to make me look much older than I am, like me wearing a Hawaiian shirt.

By what looks best on you. Though my vote would be for the Caravans.

If you can, you should post with the sunglasses on, that would make it a lot easier.

Unfortunately I don't have any of the glasses on me or near me but I'll try posting some pictures later on!

Any other suggestions?

I'd say traditional aviators but it really depends on your face. I look good wearing aviators but a friend of mine couldn't pull them off, just looks out of place

Yes but they are a classic super trendy!

And I haven't been able to get a picture with either style on.. I think I might go with the plain Aviators.

Looking at your face I think aviators will eat most of your face up. Ray Ban has junior sized aviators which is probably your best bet. I can't say whether you'll look good in them, but you may want to consider the kids' size. They're classic, yes, but they're super trendy. I own a pair so I'm not trying to be a dick; let's face it, they're more trendy than classic these days. ;)

You're Asian. You'll look good in any large pair of sunglasses. ;)

I'd buy Serengeti Medium Aviators. Serengetis are incredible. They also make a "Small" size, but medium isn't enormous or anything.

Serengetis are amazing. I have pair of Visa before they'd stopped making them (they're impossible to find these days). Superb quality shades.

M2c. They're not cheap but you can get a better price on eBay.

I say the Squared ones. I have a pair of them (the Raybans) and they look much better on my face than regular aviators. Based on the way you look, the squared ones will look better on you.

Maybe I'm imagining the wrong type of 'gold' referred to, but I'm picturing a black rapper from the hood with lots of additional bling bling.

Not everyone can pull off black frames. Asians invariably can :)

Thanks guys :D

Wow the Serengeti Gun Metals look really good! I'm actually thinking about it.

Any opinions on the gold frames vs black frames?

Also does anyone know if polarization makes a big difference?

IMO, gold frames are more classic/ traditional. Black is more modern.

IIRC polarization will allow you to 'see through' the glare of the sun. It's particularly useful if you spend a lot of time near/ around/ on the water.

FWIW, all my sunglasses are polarized.

I had no idea that they were either classic or super trendy. Maybe fashion has passed me by, but my guess would be that if you have aviators you will be bringing them back (fashion-wise, that is), because they are currently neither.

So one of us is wrong. It's probably me, because I am wearing Blu-Blockers. But then I am also hanging on to bell-bottoms hoping they will come around again as well.

But aviators to me are one step nerdier than those white Venetian blinds shades from the 70's. Unless you are trying to also bring back the Village People...

Plus, you need a bone structure like Arnold Schwarzenegger to pull them off. And stay away from Oakleys, unless you want to look like Rickey Henderson setting a stolen-base record in the 1980's.
