If it were me I would flog that one on ebay, someone will pay good money for it as a working but cosmetically damaged machine. Then go buy a new one.

True but I think a problem is that
The curve is causing the MBP to not stay shut, the magnet is not strong enough.
The machine wouldn't be able to go to sleep? I think unless there is a way to fix that it is difficult to sell..
 
I was able to get the lid to close. So the top display casing is now straight, but it has the dings on the back. Were going to get a case for it today. A little late, but hopefully it protects it in the future.

I purchased with my bank debit card, so I dont have any protection. Time to look into an Amex for situations like this. Thanks for the heads up.

Ah good point, I forgot to mention. If you used Amex to purchase the laptop - they offer accidental coverage no matter where you got it from. Def. check with your CC company and try your luck with Apple. Better yet, have your wife call. In my experience, people tend to listen to women more than men... (I know right).
