need your help with macbook buying options

ok i have about to buy macbook.

1st choice is a macbook white 2.0 ghz 1 gb ram 80 hd with no warranty for 600 with box

or

2nd a 2.1 new processor current model macbook 1 gb ram 120 gb harddrive new used for a month or two with box and everything 850 under warranty till next year

please help thanks

For another $49 you can get the same 2.1 on their refurb site, with a full 1 year warranty.
 
You definitely want the one with warranty. It's a much smarter option, although it's a bit more. Try and see if you can bargain for 800, as that should be a good deal.
 
Go with the warranty, better still the refurb with the warranty, rather than the Craigslist one. Anyway, I'm a big fan of the concept of the warranty, and would never commit to a major purchase unless one was offered. If anything goes wrong with the product you have purchased, you have rights with a warranty. Generally, I have found them to be both necessary and useful.

Besides, Apple honours their warranties. This is one of the chief reasons I switched to Apple, as over two years ago, two successive iPods died while still under warranty. They were each replaced without a fuss which impressed me. Good luck. Cheers.
 
I never buy from CL if I could help it, I always buy new or refurbished if new is too expensive. Refurb has warranty, and any chance of defects, are covered by warranty. Used ... well you take more risk and save about 50 from what another poster said.

ok a black macbook 2.0ghz with 1 gb ram and superdrive with applecare warranty until feb 2010 $ 800 without box great condition




or a white macbook newer model 2.1 1gb ram with combo drive under warranty until march 2009 $ 850 with box lightly used
 
And with the money you save by going with the blackbook, you can get another gig of RAM.
 
Well, if you're looking for longevity you could get the newer MacBook and upgrade the AppleCare so that you have another two years on top of the one that's already there. If you don't plan on doing that though, I would go with the Black MacBook because it has a SuperDrive.
 
could be i am not sure. so then the 2.o black is going to be just as fast, plus it has the warranty. however i am buying it so when the new one does come out in September i can sell it for a decent value with apple care

then just wait 2 weeks! Save yourself some hassles, buying selling,buying ,selling🙄
 
the 2.1 is a 2008 penryn with newer graphics. It supports 4 gb ram. The 2.0 is feb 2007 and I think it only supports 3 gb ram. The black one may be a better deal with the extended warranty and then you can sell it later. Check my sources at everymac.com
