need your help with macbook buying options

OK well this is hard for me to take in before my purchase.

the white one yea its white, black is so much more professional and nice looking. However the white is the newer model and has the 2.1 pyron or however you spell it processor with 1 gb ram and a 120hd and a combo drive and newer graphics chip.. warranty until 2010.
its a newer model. And after doing some research i have found it has a better resale value on ebay and such. i believe help me out. no box leopard though 825

the black macbook was released in 2006 and has the intel core 2 duo with a 2.0 (not pyron) but also has a 1gb ram and a 120hd, it does have a superdrive over the white newer model that i am looking at. warranty until march 2009.. lightly used and comes with box and all 850

i do need the macbook now for school and i am looking to resell whatever i get when the newer macbook comes out depending what if offers obviously.

after doing this research what do you think has a better resale value and all is better for me. i have seen pictures of both computer and they are in great shape. black one is 2 years old and white one is almost a year with a shorter warranty

please help me
 
If the BlackBook is a Core Duo model, get the white MacBook. Otherwise get the black one

nvm another vote for Black! be sure to buy a 2GB DDR2-667 SO-DIMM so you get 3GBs of RAM! (those models can take 3GB)

ok a black macbook 2.0ghz with 1 gb ram and superdrive with applecare warranty until feb 2010 $ 825 without box great condition. 2006 model used to years. good condition




or a white macbook newer model 2.1 1gb ram with combo drive under warranty until march 2009 $ 850 with box lightly used has the new peryon processor and has a updated graphics card.

my goal is to buy this macbook because i need it for school right now, then whenever the new ones come out depending on what gets updated or changed i am going to sell it. so resale is a big deal when buying one of these.

please help thanks
 
if you are just going to resell it then get the white one. though a lot of people buy and will pay more on ebay for the blackbooks, i think the fact its two years old and the white is the current gen. you will get more for the white.

If you look at the warranty dates, the blackbook was purchased in feb/2007. The whitebook was purchased in march/2008. The white is a newer generation but you will have to either sell it or up for the warranty by march/2009. I'm changing my advice in light of the 2.0 being a 2006 generation. Get the newer faster more ram option white one.
 
yes but the white one has the newer processor and the newer graphics card for 25 more. but then again i am looking for resale value what do you think
 
well yea and when i looked at the specs and looked at the test sheet the newer model did score about 50 points higher, however it is the white model, but for 25 dollars more it seems like a good deal, however it does not have a long warranty like black book..

plus if the macbook updates are major in sep, like a case redesign on dedicated graphics card then i will buy the newer model. if not then i will keep the one i decided to buy now and i wouldnt want to pay 200 more dollars for a warranty

Its like you decided on the White one already just because it has "higher" specs. If you're a spec person, then get the white one. Get whatever you like, not what people tell you to like.

Our opinions are given already, most users here personally enjoy the black over the white when given a choice and the price range you're faced with.
 
I would buy the white Macbook. Strongly suggest buying AppleCare yourself, as you never know what is going to happen to your laptop over a span of 3 years.
 
Once you go black, you can't go back! I had to say it. But on a serious note, the Blackbook has a better resellers value when you want to get rid of it.
 
just to let anyone who cares know i decided to give it about 2 more weeks waiting for the new updated macbooks.

IF you don't like the new revision then you can always purchase the refurbish blackbook at a new lower price point than it is now. :D
