I love Neil Young and part of what is great is the raw quality of his music which sounds good streaming, CD, tape, and vinyl. The feeling gets across and it's what I love about his music. He's not the cleanest player and often sings out of tune but anything more practiced would not be Neil Young. He was out there with his acoustic guitar in the heyday of overly produced acoustic music like Dan Fogelberg and James Taylor. Now if we were talking something that is like the mega-overproduced Pink Floyd (also a favorite of mine) I would always want a DDD recording on unlimited tracks with machine like preciseness and hear every dynamic. I may not like the streaming in that context.
