Hi. Received my starling hub and doorbell but it looks like the UK version of the doorbell is not HKSV compatible with starling.

The wired 2 version is not available over here. Could you send me a pic of yours please so I can see which one you have? If need be I’ll then import one. Thanks.
Yeah the wireless battery version is not compatible. It has to be the 2nd Gen wired to get HKSV. It’s working on my end.

Thanks. I've got the previous wired version which in the UK is the latest version but actually it would be classed as the first gen one. So I need to get the 2nd gen which is what you've got there.

How responsive would you say it is? Via HomeKit I mean? So if someone rings the doorbell how long does it take for you to get alerted on your phone? Thanks a lot.

It’s pretty quick. Better than the other crap being sold on the market. Within two seconds I’d say. Of course, YMMV depending on your network. I get about 350 mb/s down and up at my doorbell.

Sounds good to me. Thanks a lot. I've ordered it from Amazon but won't get it till around mid December but looking forward to having a full HomeKit Secure Video doorbell at last.

Quick update. Finally received my Google nest second generation wired doorbell from Amazon from across the pond.

I'd already got the Starling device set up. All working absolutely amazingly. Very impressed with the doorbell.

Quick question, do I need this nest aware subscription for the HomeKit Secure Video etc to keep working? I'm currently on the free 30 day trial. Thanks.

Yes I believe you do. Saw it in Starling’s online documentation somewhere.

Glad it’s working out for you so far. Amazing how the best option for an HKSV doorbell is a device not certified by Apple. I even went with Nest Protects for my smoke and CO detection needs. Same thing, very reliable. Had a lot of disconnection issues with OneLinks. Not a good look for such a critical device.

Edit* just got this off Starling’s website FAQ’s

Cheers chap. I couldn't find that for the life of me! Thanks for confirming. We still have no genuine native HKSV doorbell in the UK so am glad I went down this route!

Just seeing this news, bummer.

I’ve got the Netatmo Doorbell. I set it up connected to a separate WiFi Access point (wired to my main router). I did this over a year ago due to issues relating to having a mesh network as my main network. It works well. I’d like to simplify my setup if possible (by removing the additional WIFI access point). Does anybody know if the issues relating to mesh networks have been resolved by updates over the last year?

Hello

Do You need to have also Nest Aware subscription to work with Homekit Secure Video iCloud?

Or is iCloud plan enough?

All the Best

Hey, yeah you do need to have a Nest Aware subscription for HKSV to work with Starling.
