Ditto. I had no idea it was a beta run. The quality for it has been decent in my experience, though does fluctuate.

It was not a beta, but just a way to try to sell their OpenConnect system. But I think they realize no more ISPs were taking the bait.

Is there a setting on the Apple TV or Netflix.com that we have to change ?
How do we know if the movie is super HD

At Netflix.com, there is a setting for overall quality of your videos, which is supposed to pass along to devices, as well (can set to lower quality/lower bandwidth for those with caps)... I would imagine it's right in there. Offhand, I forget the exact place in the site, but it shouldn't be hard to find.

Huh, I noticed that the video looked amazing on my Dad's 42" TV the other day. It usually looked grainy. I just thought they upped their internet connection but I never asked, just commented on how clear the video looked. I guess this is the reason, not sure what they watch netfilx through though, I think it is through the TV itself.

Awesome. Now if only it didn't take a full minute to start a video with this new ATV software update.

So when will Super HD start for iMacs or to watch it on your computers? On Apple TV I see the icon saying Super HD but the quality still looks the same and yes I changed the connection or speed settings on Netflix website but still grainy quality. As one other person said I also wish they would fix the loading time on Apple TV.

I do not think Super HD is 100% ready yet but I hope soon.

comes after the addition of Major League Soccer and Disney Junior Channels to the set-top box today.

How about Amazon Prime when will this ever happen? Everyone want Amazon Prime more than anything on Apple TV and I am sure Apple already knows this. Also would be nice if Charter Communication would ever let us watch HBO Go on Apple TV.

I just watched "The Road" in superHD. Looked great but occasionally the quality dipped down to standard def. My average download speed is 24 Mbps.

Man that was a depressing movie, especially if you have kids.

Now to check out some super hd titles.

It's almost certainly still lower quality than BluRay. Which means it's still not maximizing 1080p, much less 4K...

You can leave out the word "almost". Still most people would have a hard time telling the difference between 720P and 1080P unless they have perfect 20/20 vision and know what to look for. Most people can't tell the difference between .wav/.aif and .mp3 and most people really don't care. ;)

Is the iPad ever going to get anything beyond 480p from these guys?

You might want to upgrade your internet connection to something beyond 56.6k dial up. I'm getting crystal clear full HD Netflix on my iPad without issues. Over Wifi, 4G and HSDPA (3.5G) without issues. Only when I have a bad connection to either (or if I'm clogging my wifi with other data) I get a low res image.

Is there anything on there that's so shameful you need to keep it secret? If so, tell us all what it is!

Maybe some responsible parents want to keep their kids from watching movies/TV that they shouldn't be seeing... Sounds like a good idea to me.

I've had "Super HD" for months on ATV3, and even moved ISPs in that time. Must have been lucky then. No complaints about the picture quality though, it's excellent.

I get 1080p and this new SuperHD on my other devices the problem is that Netflix locks 480p on iOS. Play this video and you'll see that it doesn't go beyond SD resolution

Oh, okay. Yeah, I've had this for a few months now and was wondering what was different between the HD shows and SUPER HD shows.

I have been watching SCANDAL on Netflix Instant and it is one of the SUPER HD offerings and it looks fantastic! :)

Exactly what The Mad Hatter said! I want password-protected profiles with kids' profiles set for "Profile is for Under 12" option. Hope that answered your question.
