they removed Hades from Netflix games, now there is no way of playing that on iOS or iPadOS devices.

and I don't think you can play those games on tvOS, only via airplay I suppose.
I hadn't realised! It bodes well as they're likely preparing it for a $10 general release.

It was an accident and the content from the time of that error was listed but nothing since.
Don’t know if it’s because I’m on ios26 beta but it’s there

Edit: seems like this is only for Netflix original content. Tried searching something else and it didn’t find it

Yeah, but will it let me restrict searches to movies in a specific language? Sometimes I don’t want to read subtitles and sometimes I want to immerse in a language.

Netflix appears to have finished deploying its redesigned interface for Apple TV with version 3.0 of the app now available, bringing a months-long rollout that began with other TV platforms earlier this year to a close. Netflix has been testing a redesigned version of its TV app since last year, and the new look is a notable departure from the previous design.

There is a new home page that has a streamlined, modern design, and Netflix designed it to put content front and center. The redesigned interface loses the left-hand sidebar navigation that Netflix has used since 2018 and replaces it with a top menu bar that relocates Search, Home, Shows, Movies, Games, and My Netflix.

The My List and My Netflix sections have been merged with the aim of streamlining access to personal content. The featured program on the home screen also gets a clearer display, presented in a large card isolated from the rest of the interface. Meanwhile, each section features a large main card that has information like release date and show or movie description.

Users will notice that when scrolling content, the static tiles for TV shows and movies have been replaced with tiles that extend when the remote lands on them, making information like the trailer and description more centralized.

The new design hinges on recommendations, which have been improved. You'll see more relevant, personalized content suggestions based on your past viewing history. Netflix says that recommendations will be more responsive to each user's "moods and interests in the moment."

Netflix has also added contextual labels to provide more information about recommended content. New labels include mentions like "Recent addition" and "No. 3 in movies" to give users better context about why content is being recommended.

Version 3.0 of the Netflix app on Apple TV requires tvOS 17 or later. The Apple TV rollout comes several months after Netflix first announced the redesign in May. Users may need to manually update the app via the App Store on their Apple TV to see the new changes, as the interface update isn't appearing automatically for all users.

On iOS devices, Netflix is still experimenting with a generative AI search feature that will let Netflix users search for shows and movies using conversational language like "I want to watch something funny and upbeat." The feature remains available as a small, opt-in beta.

What about airplay?

Netflix app on Apple TV is inferior to other platforms.

  • No ability to remove shows/movies from "Continue Watching" list
  • Doesn't have "Next episode" button when viewing a show
  • Doesn't have "Episodes" selection when viewing a show
  • Doesn't have playback speed selection
  • Doesn't have "More like this" option when viewing a show
Have these features that exist in other platforms been added to Apple TV app yet?

Netflix on FireTV had all these features.
I'm not sure what version of the Apple TV you're using, but the Netflix app on my ATV (not this updated version of the app) has the first three items on your list. I don't about the playback speed because I never thought to watch it at anything but 1x speed. And if select a show, you can usually scroll down to find more shows like the one you're on.

I just noticed search results pointing to Netflix when using Apple TV app finally. I love using that app to search for content when I don’t know what platform it’s on.
My main beef with Netflix for YEARS is this
No. They want your data and to actually open the app
so is it fixed or not? I absolutely hate this big tech greed-driven BS. Anyone who cared about customer experience would just implement all the platform features from the start.

Horrible, liked the older way. If you want to search you have to scroll all the way to the top finder glass to either type or voice what you want to look up. Other way you can just swipe to the side

Let’s hope they fix the navigation clicks sounding when they’re disabled in system settings. This is really annoying.

Also I hate the zooming of the selected item, bouncing wide is really annoying and means on a large TV you have just FOUR items on display at a time.

Nice update but why is there navigation clicks sound when everything is off in ATV settings?

Does it make it any easier to find content? That’s the biggest issue I have. All the recommendations are pretty rubbish and it’s such a chore on Netflix (and Disney, Prime etc) to find something to watch.

Why is the same movie shown in 7 different categories!! I skipped over it once when I was scrolling so don’t show me it again…

Edit: typo
They don't have other content is why. Their #1 aim is to hide the fact that they've lost most of the content they once had and minimize the churn that results when people realize that.

90+% of the movies you want to watch that aren't made by Netflix aren't available on Netflix. That's probably an underestimate - it's probably closer to 99%.
