Netflix's promotion of its new design is telling.

Sheesh! Netflix's interface is already too noisy and busy — hitting us with LOUD auto-playing of promos and trailers, its own sudden, intrusive Ba-Dum theme, and, like far too many other streaming services, focusing on trying to get viewers to watch other shows in their stable rather than letting us seamlessly return to where we left off.
The last thing we want — or need — is “more video and animation”!
The corporate sloganeering — getting “people to press play, and stay” — is laughable. It shows just how they view customers and how oblivious they are to their own words and what they reveal. They are more intent on Pavlovian conditioning than on satisfying viewers. It's a manipulative, messed-up business model.
On top of all that, they've imposed large percentage price increases several times in the past few years.
This interface change may just be the last straw for many. Hope they get enormous pushback on it.
“The redesign, which features fewer titles but more video and animation, is intended to present a sleeker look and get “people to press play, and stay,” the company said.” 🙈 ‼️
