I use the 'Network' pane from the system preferences panel quite a lot and I was wondering if there's any way to speed up my common tasks or maybe access them from somewhere else like the taskbar? I can already check on my wireless status from there, but I'd like to be able to do more!

Often when I access it's just to change my computer's 'location' or something similarly trivial, so if there was a quicker way to access the pane, I'd love to know about it!

Any ideas?

You can change location and access Network Preferences through the Apple Menu.

Also, if you leave the System Preferences app running, you can access any pane through its dock icon.

GENIUS! 😀 Thanks I'll do that. And thanks to the other suggestions too; howevr I've tried 3 separate times to 'do' QuickSilver and my brain just can't cope!
