The hate for the 4S was a lot worse, yet everyone still bought it and it sold millions.

I agree about the negativity towards it, some people just need to complain about something I guess. I personally love it and will pre-order it.

I think this basically sums it up. The iPhone 5 is nice. It's thinner, faster, better front camera, but all in all nothing revolutionary. This is reason I am disappointed. Apple in general use to be the market leader in this area. Now I too feel like they are playing catch up to the rest. These recent changes are nice, but really it took over a year for these changes? I think they could have done more or released it sooner, again based on what the competition was doing. Also again, nothing revolutionary. It doesn't have the wow factor the 4 had back in the day. Now the competition is releasing phones quicker, with a lot more features that Apple is catching up on. Do I like Apple, yes. Do they make great products, yes. But as a company I think they are losing, (if not lost in my opinion) as the leader in the area. I hope it changes but not sure so on them anymore.
Apple isn't the largest company in the world for no reason. The consumers on this site obviously don't make up for the majority, who will no doubt be buying the new phone like GANGbusters
Honestly, once an iPad mini gets released, I will wish for apple to come out with a flip phone. With the shrinking tablets now, phones are becoming less relevant. I use my iphone for business and personal and only ever use about 100 min a month. I do everything off email and text, which then iPad mini will be capable of. I do wish/hope the iPad mini has NFC but if they didn't include it in the iphone I highly doubt we will see it on the iPad.
Yes I am disappointed too! The new IPhone can not swim, like all the others.. bad job Apple! Seriously, what do you all aspect?? It is a nice phone. MR was fun to read, but it gets annoying now. I have the feeling here is just trolling. If you like Android or Windows (both crap by the way) so much, why do you not stick to these forums....
The whiners get a lot more attention then the people who offer superlatives or generally praise a product. But 10-1 those same people will be clogging up the servers on Friday.
