I haven't heard the popping in many months. eqMac solved this for me 100% of the time.

And now, after updating to beta versions of macOS 15.2, I noticed that eqMac hadn't been running and I still wasn't getting the pops and cracks. Maybe it's solved at the OS level... finally. Anyone else running 15.2 and notice this years long issue finally fixed?

Do I just need to install eqMac or are there any specific settings I need to do? I noticed that Soundsource introduces weird audio glitches whenever I'm on a call (Zoom, Google Meet and the likes) so I had to disable it. Is eqMac doing something similar?

I originally came back to this thread to say that I still have constant popping. I got used to it, but goddammit... it's been freaking 4 years now since I purchased this "premium" product and Apple neither acknowledged nor fixed it. Extremely disappointing.

I just installed eqMac and it went away. That said, macOS 26 seems to have largely solve this for me. I don't want to jinx it but I haven't heard any crackling. eqMac had not been updated for the new macOS so I turned it off and haven't had to turn it back on since.
