New 17" Macbook Pro has 8 hour battery life... but the 15" only has 5?

Oh yeah I know and I agree that it is a nice improvement. I'm not knocking apple one bit. I just get excited when I hear 8 hours of battery life and then I am knocked back to reality.

Won't have a effect just make sure every 3 days or so unplug and drain the battery.

not the best of advices: apple say that a full drain to sleep should be done once every one to two months: not more than that and to leave it in the case at all times: the computer uses the battery and the ac adapter at the same time. truly, if you lost power: that is sure shutdown without a battery as well, the cpu throttles down its speed when only on ac current
