Apple's upcoming 27-inch iMac will feature a thinner exterior design....
Yep, nothing's more important in a large screen desktop computer than having the thinnest machine possible
This is totally worth losing repairability and upgradability over.

Yeah, would be nice, but it seems Apple has decided that Space Grey is reserved for all its Pro lines. Such a damn cool looking colour.I’d love to see one released in black, or at least a dark space gray.
Face it, mate, you're just not as pro as you think you areIt will come in Dull™ and Slightly Darker Dull™, because Apple has decided that professionals lead a drab life that must not have color.
No one is stopping you painting it in any colour you like. My son painted his PS4, and I'm blown away by how well it turned out. Next he wants to get himself an airbrush.Plenty of people... like the same sort of people who refuse to buy an LG5K monitor because it's just a hunk of plastic and electronics.
I'm not shopping based on colors, but hey, I wouldn't mind having something cheerful in my workspace. If it's possible to use one of these as an external monitor, there may be a blue or red iMac in my future.

He’s learned to like them, dig is a 60’s term, like I dig that song, etc.Hope i dont bother you with this question lol, what do u mean by "I've learned to dig the colors on the 24"?
The adoption of colors along with conventional backlighting suggests it might not be positioned as an iMac Pro.
Well, the iPhone Pro models also come in colors, so I don't think color options are some sort of litmus test for a "pro" product. And remember that the "non-pro" iMacs used to come in only one color (silver) too. And if there are enough other beefed up specs aside from the backlighting, I can still see it getting the "pro" label.
iPhone Pro comes in colors that everyone expects: essentially a black, white, gold, and a “Pantone color of the year.” In most professional workspaces, a lime green or popsicle orange color isn’t really accepted.
My son is an enterprising young lad, so I have no doubt he'd be up for that.If nobody stops me from painting my gear, it would be a tragedy. You haven't seen my painting skills. Can I hire your son?
This is interesting, but what is the market for an iMac Pro? Isn't it the same as for the MacPro? I mean, that's why the original iMac Pro was released, right? Two desktop pro machines? Not sure about that.Exactly what I think.
In the last few days we have gotten rumors that have said iMacs with miniLED have started production, as well as rumors saying the iMac will have LED instead. We’ve also heard rumors the iMac will share designs more similar to the ProDisplay (thicker chassis with the cheese grater holes in the back) and other rumors saying the iMac will look just like the 24”. I think these rumors are talking about two different iMacs = iMac and iMac Pro.
• 27” iMac - same design as small iMac. Fun colors. M1 Pro/Max chips. Maybe a cheaper M1 chip option too.
• iMac Pro - same design as ProDisplay (thicker with cheese grater holes) but with a chin. Black bezels. Silver/grey colors. (2x) M1 Max chips.
Yea why is it either drab black white silver gray or pastel or so dark it looks like black or gray unless you have a ridiculous amount of light hitting it?Face it, mate, you're just not as pro as you think you are
But quite frankly, the Slightly Darker Dull™ looks damn bad-*ss, whilst these pastels look like they belong in kindergartens to me. Each to their own, hey.
