Thought it looked a bit weird. I just found it on google image search. Replaced it with a better one.
So? Why do you care what it looks like? Does it interfere with your "iPhone Experience"? God you guys are all so ridiculous. It's just a phone.
Yes, it totally throws off my Feng shui. I'm downgrading to 2.0.1 to get my old icon back.
I wish they'd kept the old one for Edge so it would be easier to discern the difference at the quickest glance. Overall, though, I don't really care as long as reception is better than it was. After two calls in areas that were previously trouble spots for me: so far, so good.
It was hyped and marketed as God's gift to mankind, but when anyone complains, it's suddenly "just a phone". Apple can't have the cake and eat it. If they want everyone to believe that it's the best thing ever, then it will also have to be subjected to intense scrutiny of epic proportions. No misaligned pixel, no 4 millisecond delay is too small to complain about.
Agreed. It would be nice is GPRS and EDGE had the boxes and 3G just had the letters.

I'm not sure WHY my phone switched to GPRS for a little bit being that I live in downtown NYC... but whatever.

I quite like the look of the new 3G and EDGE icons, always thought the blue boxes stood out too much.
However the GPRS icon looks a bit odd. At least before it was in a blue box similar to the other icons so it was obviously for data. Whereas now it's just a dot which doesn't mean anything.

It's always blue when its on a white background and white when its on a black background. It doesn't mean anything.
