    Yay or Nay?

Yes, I realize this is the most pointless poll ever, but I don't care. :D

It was the first thing i noticed. The 3g icon that is. It also stays blue like the signal strength bars when texting. Neato

The new ones are hideous, especially the EDGE icon.

Thought it looked a bit weird. I just found it on google image search. Replaced it with a better one.

Definitely uglier. Since the space around the characters is now empty but the icon still has the same width, it now looks like a freak kerning accident. The idiot who did this should wear the dunce cap for a year.

So? Why do you care what it looks like? Does it interfere with your "iPhone Experience"? God you guys are all so ridiculous. It's just a phone.

Yes, it totally throws off my Feng shui. I'm downgrading to 2.0.1 to get my old icon back. :p

I wish they'd kept the old one for Edge so it would be easier to discern the difference at the quickest glance. Overall, though, I don't really care as long as reception is better than it was. After two calls in areas that were previously trouble spots for me: so far, so good.

It was hyped and marketed as God's gift to mankind, but when anyone complains, it's suddenly "just a phone". Apple can't have the cake and eat it. If they want everyone to believe that it's the best thing ever, then it will also have to be subjected to intense scrutiny of epic proportions. No misaligned pixel, no 4 millisecond delay is too small to complain about.

Agreed. It would be nice is GPRS and EDGE had the boxes and 3G just had the letters.

I don't like just the letters.
3G or E is supposed to be an icon...
now it just combines with AT&T.

I mean, maybe Apple wants us to read it as AT&T 3G... but I personally don't like it.

Anybody seen the new GPRS icon?
    It's just a small dot.
I'm not sure WHY my phone switched to GPRS for a little bit being that I live in downtown NYC... but whatever.

I quite like the look of the new 3G and EDGE icons, always thought the blue boxes stood out too much.
However the GPRS icon looks a bit odd. At least before it was in a blue box similar to the other icons so it was obviously for data. Whereas now it's just a dot which doesn't mean anything.

    Guys,

what does it mean when the icon is blue? Does it mean it is being accessed?

It's always blue when its on a white background and white when its on a black background. It doesn't mean anything.

You posted my image without my consent. I will see you in court. Honestly. This is a violation of website T.O.S. to post copyrighted material that is not yours. I'm currently on the phone with MacRumors to get your info. I'm not letting this one go. This is serious!

I didn't even know there was a GPRS icon, when does that show up?
All I ever see is WiFi, EDGE or 3G.

One of the first things I noticed. Not a big deal but definitely uglier.
