New 3G/Edge Icons

i think there was a reason for apple to make the change. on numerous occassions my phone would "glitch" where the 3G/E icon spot would just contain like a white or black box. Probably some bug, so apple decided to get rid of the background box and stick with the 3G/E letter instead to prevent that from happening.
Hideous? It's the friggin letter E! Maybe you just have some aversion to the letter E. Confront your fears.

Where's the option for "Don't care?"
I honestly couldn't care less. Like someone else said it's just an icon. All I care about is whether or not it does what it's supposed to do.

It's not the letter E itself that's the problem... it's the space between it and the network name. You see, graphic designers usually have an eye for kerning. When a designer sees poorly kerned text he throws up a little in his mouth and stays off food for the remainder of the day.
Whoever made the original graphics for the previous firmware versions sat there for hours and tinkered with that layout and then said "aaah yes, now there's the perfect distance between the text and the E icon. I love my work."
But then someone came along and inverted the icon, thus removing the fill around the letter E. The end result is a kerning violation that makes people who care about graphics want to go out and stab children with a rusty screwdriver, while people who don't care about graphics couldn't care less and wonder why some people don't have lives.
The most pointless poll, would be asking if there are too many polls, or not enough.Yay or Nay?
