I'll be upgrading from a 5S as well. I just hope they don't release a newer 4" iPhone this fall with the 7s.

I think you mean the 7, and why on Earth would they release a successor to a product 6 months after its launch?

I don't believe it. I don't believe they will ever sell any iPhone at $225 (full retail). That's playing in the low end of the market, which they've never done in any product category. I also doubt the new iPhone pricing. Well, maybe a 16GB for $500.

You aware Apple is forecasting it's first negative iPhones sales year over year since it was introduced?
I won't surprised in the slightest when this happens, Apple has canibilized the higher end of the smartphone market they aren't going to wait around for the 3rd world middle class to grow..

everyone's after that 12MP camera. I'd actually get an iphone that would double up as a swiss army knife..... No extra baggage :D

I'm talking 7s as in multiple 7 phones (7 & 7+). I'm not talking about the 7S.

I've been burned that way before with the iPad 3. They released a successor, the iPad 4, 6 months later.

You should realize that using 7s as the plural of 7 is going to cause misunderstandings. The "s" isn't capitalized in the "s" series phones, so 7S isn't the correct way to differentiate.

The iPad 3 was a special case. It was a misstep, and I think even that got 8 months before being replaced. After waiting two and a half years to put out a new 4" phone, what on Earth are they going to come up with that makes them want to put out another half a year later?

Yeah, I understand there will be misunderstandings, which is why I wasn't being rude about it. I wasn't sure how to properly make it look like the plural version. I was going to type "Sevens," but that looked weird. lol

Thanks for the info about the "s" vs "S." Good to know :)

I wonder what the line up this year will be

IPhone 7/7 Plus
iPhone SE
iPhone 5s

Or if it will be

IPhone 7/7 Plus
IPhone 6s/6s Plus
iPhone SE
iPhone 5s

It will be interesting to see what Apple does.

That's why I usually avoid pluralizing all together. I didn't intend to be rude about it either so I hope it didn't sound that way.

There is a difference between making a new $225 phone and selling an older high end model at a lower price down the road. Apple will probably never design a phone with "cheap" as the main feature, as other companies do. But I don't se a problem with them selling old premium phones at a low price point. The iPhone 5s is still amazing compared to most phones designed to cost $225.

I agree. And, I'd actually be worried if they do, as I said above, selling someone a new iPhone 5s is just asking for a premature poor user experience. That's not good for the Apple brand, even if it brings in some extra cash and iPhone sales numbers.
How is the 5S a "poor user experience"? I'm typing this on one right now and especially with iOS 9.3 (beta) this phone is still a great experience IMO. Better than any midrange Androids for me.

except they're not going to cut 50% off a phone they sold at a higher price just 1 month earlier, that would piss off not only the ones that just bought, but all those that wanted to resell, so that's why this price is very unlikely. But, such a price drop in India, were they have actual done this, is highly possible.

Just add the word "series" to indicate multiples in a range.
Shouldn't be an issue until a couple of successors past the SE (iPhone SEr-ie...)

No worries. Your post didn't come across as rude at all. In fact, I was worried that by me saying "which is why I wasn't being rude about it," would come off as rude. lol

Ahhhh. Okay. That looks better/makes sense. Series it is!

..and perhaps an apostrophe to signify multiple phones of the same generation..

eg. " several iPhone 6's "

Not grammatically correct, but clear.

It is actually less confusing.
Before, consumers have to worry about many other things like Apple pay support, etc since the baseline iPhone is two generations behind. Now, if the baseline iPhone is closer tech wise, only 1 gen behind, people just need to worry about screen size.
Want basic iPhone that can do most of the advertised features? SE
Want larger screen than that? 6S
Want latest and greatest? 7.
I'd agree with you if the entire iPhone consumer base were techies like us MR forum members. For most iPhone users, cost alone will be the primary motivator in choosing a device.
