I've been using the Power Support clear shield since July (and have never had to change it). A couple of days ago, a co-worker sold me 1 of his 2 PS anti-glare shields. So far I'm loving it. The sharpness/brightness is only mildly affected (and I'm a retoucher, so I'm fairly critical), but the time saved from not constantly wiping the screen more than makes up for that.

My only concern is that like many matte finished surfaces (Macbook touchpad), over time the film may develop smooth or oily patches from constant contact (like the slide to unlock area).

Yes, I would imagine over time it would become slick like the touchpad does on laptops. But at least you get two in the package.

Oh, and speaking of oily spots...I asked one of the guys at the apple store what was best/ safest way to keep the touchpad and keyboard clean on the laptop, since they are are in constant contact with hands and skin oil, etc. I have an old powerbook and the touchpad is almost useless now. Anyway, he suggested mr clean sponges. I bought a package, and so far they work wonderfully (and make white macbook look great for months now). So maybe that's an idea to keep a covered iphone screen clean? They seem to remove build up quite well, and one sponge can be used several times. Sorry for the o/t.

We Have a Winner!

At this point I am prepared to declare a winner: The Power Support Anti-Glare film is superior to the Crystal Film. The small loss of screen clarity that the anti-glare film creates is considerably more than made up for by the fact that it hides fingerprints and smudges so very well. I removed my anti-glare film last night and installed my last crystal film. While the screen clarity is perfect, I overlaid the old anti-glare film and noticed that the difference really isn't that much. In fact, the only thing you really lose is the shine, the gloss of the screen.

So no more crystal film today. I'm sticking to the anti-glare film from now on. Once I tire of cleaning this final piece of crystal film, that is.

I just got this, put it on, and LOVE IT.. There is no loss in screen quality really, its just the lack of glare you normally see. You cant leave finger prints on this thing!!!!

am I the only one who could not get it installed without numerous air bubbles? I tried both of mine and had no luck so I'm going to take them back and get a new pack.

I got the crystal set installed with no problems...

I got air bubbles. I just take a credit card or something and push them over to the side. Sometimes they just go away on their own too.

I have the antiglare protector. It doesn't smudge but it makes cause some of the "negative black" issues with dark scenes which I did not see before I put the protector on.
