It means that Snapchat is optimized for the iPhone, not that it is only available on the Apple platform. You can download it on the iPad, yes, but it's an iPhone app.

It's also an android app, by any definition.
 
Why would Apple approve apps that hack other apps though? Shouldn't there be some rule against similar practice instead of letting App developers right each other in court (When possible).
 
So these apps log on to your account and read from the actual snapchat (google servers)? why doesn't snapchat just encrypt the photos/videos so only they can decrypt?

That's the problem: It doesn't hack anything. It can only show pictures that the user of the app was meant to see.
