New Apple accessories do not work on older macOS versions

Apperently the new accessories like the new Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad with USB type C does not work on earlier versions of macOS. On the website it is listed to work with OS X 10.11 or later, however this is incorrect.

Apple is aware and is working on a fix.

I am posting this to make people aware of this issue, I do not mean to scare you into not buying many of Apple products. This is an issue I personally experienced which was frustrating.
