new customers lol. How about rewarding EXISTING loyal customers? Pathetic
The key word is “customer”.

They only loyalty a corporation has is to the customers money.

Apple “rewards” their share holders and has grown their corporate coffers by add to it not subtracting from.

That does not make it right, nor does it inspire customer loyalty in what is a very competitive business.
There is no competition when it comes to the Apple Ecosystem and it’s luxury line of personal computing devices.

The “price tag” for Apple’s products is one of it’s selling points, you are not buying just a computer you are buying the bragging rights that come with the purchase.

“That does not make it right…”

It’s called marketing and capitalism. Nether are inherently bad.

Just thinking that these companies make so much in profit, they can give everyone these benefits, not just new people. Companies are great at recruitment, but terrible at retainment.
Not giving it away is one of the reasons they are making so much profit.

Customers are great at staying, but are terrible at moving.

Interesting how that works, isn’t it?

I used my Apple Card near its limit over the summer and my credit score got dinged for it, even though I paid it off on time. I am giving all my credit cards a break. I just use my Apple Card to pay monthly bill to keep it active. Most of my purchases are now on debit. Thankfully my credit has been restored to excellent.
You are doing it wrong my friend.

You need to cancel some cards and then get your limits increased so you only use ca 30-50% of your available credit on any given card. (Always pay off the balance at the end of the month).

Whatever card you choose to use pick one that has a) good points or cash rebates, b) good supplemental insurances for the big ticket purchases.

If you are using a debit card to buy things you can afford, you are just pi$$ing away rebates and the chance to increase your fico score by following my above suggestions.

I never buy apple products using my Apple Card because there are no supplemental coverages for breakages or extended warranties.

I always use my AMEX SkyMiles card for the big ticket purchases.

Apple Card is relegated to paying 99¢/mo for my iCloud plus because it gets a 3% rebate.

I love the app and interface and wish other cards would copy this but as a card in general, all things considered, on a rebate and coverage basis, Apple Card isn’t that great.

This seems like a good deal. I got some sort of bonus when I signed up for my Apple Card a while back. I use my Apple Card for many purchases just because it's convenient. I love how I can always see the balance clearly in the Wallet app and payments are easy and instant. I have a Discover card that I use sometimes because during certain periods it has better cash back.

The trap here is your $50 or whatever as a bonus will cost you hundreds of dollars in interest over the year. They're not giving that money out without expecting something in return. Unless you're disciplined enough to pay off the balance every month and not purchase something you can't afford stay away from these offers.
Words of wisdom.… yet word to the wise. As long as you live within your means and read terms carefully you can game the system. Never paid a dime in interest on any credit card debt in my entire life. I have made at least $30k to as much as $50k in rewards, bonuses, and signup offers over the last 20+ years.

Yup over the last 20+ years…. But hey it sure adds up!!! It‘a like getting a free car or two, several vacations, major home renovation etc on someone else’s dime.

There is nothing wrong with consumerism unless you are an undisciplined consumer. That is the beauty of Capitalism!! It is politically incorrect to tell somewhat the right answer is! Instead we find ways to make money from everyone’s individual dreams and diversity!!

Ouch.. went a little off topic… But the overall message is as long as you at an afford it and make it work then praise to you!! and if not… then well I guess it sucks to be you. That’s the beauty of it all! You let people build their own prisons through their own decisions!!

That’s pretty smart advice!

Hmmm…. I hope Apple is listening to us. Apple really does have something going with Apple-card but if they really want to compete with the rest of the industry they have to up the ante.

The rewards, coverages, benefits etc. are not enough to make Apple Card my go to form of payment. In fact it hasn’t even been enough to make me contemplate applying for one.

So far the only thing going for Apple card is no fees. In particular not foreign transaction fees. IOS integration and Apple Pay. But the integration and Apple Pay benefits are not that great considering most cards work with Apple pay anyway. Also many issuers offer equivalent and sometimes even better management features in their own apps.

It's how EVERY credit card works. It's called a 'Signup Bonus'. It's an industry standard. 😂 It's no different than countless retailers that have special offers for first-time customers.

The Apple Card has never been a very good card. In fact, it's a pretty poor one in terms of what it offers. But Apple users are highly loyal to Apple. And they know that. Which is why people signed up in the first place, despite it offering less than great benefits even for a free card.
Actually, Apple Card generally gives 2% back on most things non Apple while Amazon only gives 1% back on things non-Amazon. I’ve, for the most part, switched.

It’s only a “trap” if you’re not financially responsible and end up borrowing more than you can pay off each month which most people are not doing (I hope). I’m sure banks earn enough from the people who are living beyond their means to justify giving the rewards, but there is no catch otherwise.

Agreed. I have one, but I am very disciplined to make sure to pay off the balance each month. I don’t think most people do that though.

Did you transfer the $14.95 out of your Daily Cash card into a checking or some other account? If so, it should zero out over time as you spend enough to build up $14.95 worth of Apple Cash again.
No cash or credit was ever transferred to me. Reported this my state's AG's office.

So if you pay for an iPhone but won't get it right away (due to manufacturing and shipping woes), that still gives you the 5% cashback?
