Come on dual dual core G5s... Lucky lucky kiss the dice and ROLL........
That would be so awesome it will never happen! :p

I just wish Apple did make a decent iPhone type a thng with the Moto PEBL. That phone is all sorts of slick. Just a nice little Apple interface and decent sync. Is that to much to ask?

I'd buy this in a minute:

Put the numbers around the wheel like a clock (with 0 at 12 and hash at 11) and place the other keys above and below the wheel, and your in buisness.

Yeah, the way you dial is like an old phone where you pull the ring around, only now your fat fingers don't get stuck in the holes because you're using the click wheel. So, after you put the numbers on, all you need is a stop so you don't over dial. ;)

IF it happens, it will most surely be iPod/iTunes related. Apple has (no?) history of releasing/announcing new Mac-related products on Thursdays at "special" events.

That being said: I really dont' feel that Apple/Moto would be able to market me an iTunes-enabled phone. But given the state of wireless phones in the US (crazy popular) there are plenty of people who have money to throw at it.

Besides, Sprint is my mobile carrier... so they won't get the Moto phone anyhow. :(

Its 9am EDT...we are 3 hours away from 9am PST (or 12am EDT :p ).

We'll almost surely see the iTunes phone. Could we also see 10.4.2 finally released today? If there are any hardware updates, it will probably be the Mac mini. As for a bet for the super unexpected "one more thing" surprise? A TiVo TV box, to go along with that remote control patent :p or or something totally new...

so what event exactly were we waiting for? It wasn't a real press conference or anything correct? Just a rumor of some sort of announcement today???

phone on a mini sounds cool. but i would love to see someone who doesnt know about it see you talk on it the first time. they will think you have officially lost it.

"that guy is talking into his mp3 player..."

the iPods as a group are probably more recognizable than most cell phone designs.

I don't get this, can't you guys just buy the phone and use the carrier you want? Why would your choice of network preclude you from buying a certain phone?

Nope. Doesn't work that way. Moto Razr is the nicest phone out there but its only for cingular and they SUCK. Sprint and verizon have way better technology and service.

Mac Daily News is reporting that there will be no event today...
I believe if you read closer, you will notice that it is less of a special event like last year's introducing the iPod. And more of just a general announcment. There is still something going on in two hours. It just won't be iPod related is what Apple is telling us.

your half right normaly yes, a phone you get from verizon will only work for verizon, however if you unlock a phone it willwork on any network with compatible technology, this is the reason that the RAZR doesnt work on verizon networks. because cingular is GSM and verizon/nextel are CDMA. the reason sprint is so limited is because they are the only provider that uses the PCS aproach in the US, and hence there are few phones which support this

I think it has to do with where your getting your service at. I'm in downtown cincinnati and my entire family has had cingular for years, even before they merged with AT&T's service. None of them, including myself have had any problems whatsoever with cingular. Actually their service coverage is absolutely amazing. They're not kidding when they say they have more bars. :p

But it could be different in another area. This is just my experience.
